I built a plugin to generate 3D assets directly from Codex, using the latest update that introduces image generation. It generates an image, calls the Tripo3D API, then starts an MCP server and a local viewer directly inside Codex. It uses the paid Tripo3D API (12 free generations, 600 credits included). We've been working hard on nailing the transitions and feel of open and closing columns. Feeling really good about where we've likely landed. Little burst of color at the top when a column opens to reiterate that's the column that changed. Cards load instantly. The column you closed gets a little bounce when it collapses. Very fluid and satisfying. You just want to play with it. Almost like a fidget. Business software doesn't have to be boring, bland, or corporate.

In general, I really enjoy awards season every year, but this year, knowing that Jennifer Lawrence could have been there and didn’t make it, I feel like I hate it all and don’t want to watch absolutely anything related to the Oscars and all this s*hit. It’s the first year of my life that I don’t plan on watching any ceremony. This is my little strike for leaving this queen out.

Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of jelly-like UI components, so I decided to make my own in #glsl, running on WebGL! I adapted the volumetric raymarching technique I use in my shaders and built a custom SDF for an iridescent keycap-style button that works as either a slider or a simple push button. The jelly feel comes from elastic easing functions that drive the SDF deformation. The scale, rotation, background, and color palette are all fully configurable.

The new Product Page Header image in the App Store will not matter. First you need users to actually want to enter your App Store listing. And the reality is that a lot of users NEVER enter the listing. They search for something, see the app in the search results and download it directly from there. So the important update here is the new Search Results image. It's an app banner inside the App Store search results. And you should think about it as a persuasive ad. COPYWRITING will be what matters. Not the fancy "branding". Users are searching because they want an answer to something. Your creative needs to give them that answer immediately. And this becomes even more important with Apple Ads. You can pay to appear for the keyword, but your creative still needs to convince the user that your app is the answer they were searching for.

The worst take about the web is that you should not use JS/React/etc because HTML alone is good enough. It's an 'austerity mind virus' that has captured even some smart engineers. The idea that the web is for 'documents' and if it stays in its own little box like 1995 it's going to somehow be better for the world. This is how we ended up with Safari having the most obnoxious limitations, including a back/forward navigation gesture that makes the web feel like a horrendous 'digital book' of sorts. No, the web is also for dynamic, rich, interactive applications. JS is a key ingredient in the recipe, otherwise every click and interaction will have to hit a server, feel slow, and we'll always be a second class citizen. The web's developer freedom & better deployment model will win in the end, but it can't come at the expense of quality.

Midjourney sref + Sora 2 Pro is the sauce. With one Midjourney style image, you can give a specific style for your entire project. I created two different 12-second clips and edited them together. Some details aren’t fully consistent, like the iPod or AirPods because the clips were made separately from a single image (Character in a specific style). It could be fixed in post-production, but that would take more time, and this was more of an experimental test. It would be great to add the actual product image with the current one to maintain product consistency. I feel like if there were a way to add 2–4 images into this workflow, it could open up a lot more possibilities and consistency. With an API, it could be possible. Or let’s see what Veo 3.1 has to offer.

If your website looks like everyone else's, it's working against you. Most sites today are the same. Same layout, same sections, same stock photos. And when everything looks the same, nothing stands out, including yours. The sites that actually do the job now have a point of view. They tell a story, guide you through it, make you want to keep scrolling. Branding, motion, interaction, the details that make someone feel something instead of just reading text. Take a look at this one. Not saying every site needs to be this. But if your goal is to impress, convert, or be remembered, flat and generic won't get you there anymore.

$Jason Schreier reports that Last Sentinel, an open-word scifi game developed by former Rockstar veterans and designed to compete with GTA 6, has been rebooted and most likely cancelled by Tencent after they spent 6 years and hundreds of millions on it.
