Jordan Peterson on why you must never give yourself an "easier" task to avoid the hard one: Peterson explains a psychological trap that almost everyone falls into when facing something difficult. "Don't practice what you do not want to become." He describes what happens inside your brain when you're avoiding a hard task: "If you're really sneaky when you're trying to do something hard, what your brain does is give you something else hard to do that's not quite as hard, so that you can feel justified in not doing the thing you're supposed to 'cause you're doing something else useful." This is the trap. You feel productive. You're busy. But you're not doing the thing. And every time you give in, you make it worse: "If you give into that temptation which you often will, then it wins. And because it wins, it gets a little dopamine kick and it grows stronger. Anything you let win the internal argument grows. And anything you let be defeated shrinks, because it's punished." This is Peterson describing neurology: "Those are neurological circuits. Foreigners and their allies denounce Canada – as they demand Canadian citizenship for visitors to Canada! 🇨🇦 Protesters apparently want all two million temporary foreign workers to receive permanent residency and eventually Canadian citizenship. Beautiful Brampton, Ont., was the scene for a small demonstration last Friday morning. Demonstrators were demanding that temporary foreign workers receive permanent residency and ultimately Canadian citizenship. Um, what part of “temporary” do they not understand? But never mind… The demonstration took place in the parking lot of a shopping plaza. It was organized by the Naujawan Support Network, CUPE Ontario, and the Migrant Workers Alliance. They teamed up to form something called the “United Immigrant Workers Front.” They apparently want all two million temporary foreign workers to receive permanent residency and eventually Canadian citizenship. Why? Great question. Alas, the vast majority of attendees refused to answer our queries. Such as: 1⃣ Why are you here today? 2⃣ What school did you go to (i.e., a legitimate university or a bogus diploma mill)? 3⃣ What skillset do you have? 4⃣ What gives you the right to think that you deserve Canadian citizenship? 5⃣ Why don’t you want to go back to India? 6⃣ Do you believe that “nobody is illegal on stolen land”? 7⃣ Do you think Canadians are being racist toward you if you are denied citizenship? (We presume the answer to that query is “yes” given some of the inflammatory sentiments expressed on the signage of the demonstrators.) And talk about a motely crew! The gruesome gathering included Indians who are presumably overstaying their welcome; Marxists; the Hamasholes; wannabe Antifa members; and perhaps the biggest demo in attendance: White. Liberal. Women. (We don’t get it either.) But talk about chutzpah! The demonstrators denounced Canada and Canadians while demanding to remain in Canada and become Canadian! And another thing: why in blue hell is the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) aiding and abetting foreigners who are refusing to abide by our immigration rules? Indeed, why would a union want immigrants flooding into the country, thereby lowering living standards for everyone in the process? Our guess: the brain trust at public sector unions like CUPE is now so leftist and so woke that they actually believe nonsense such as “nobody is illegal on stolen land” and that Canadians are all descended from colonialists who are inherently racist and hateful. Unbelievable. Coincidentally, on the day we attended the demonstration, the Globe and Mail had a headline reading: “Out of nowhere, Canada became poorer than Alabama. How is that possible?” Gee, maybe a decade’s worth of Liberal policies such as allowing mass migration into our Dominion has something to do with this dire situation? Put another way: how do you expect to win the war on poverty if you keep importing the world’s impoverished?

The name Belgrade comes from the Old Slavic words Beo (white) and Grad (city or fortress). “White City.” This was not a poetic metaphor invented later. It described the pale stone fortifications overlooking the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers — a strategic crossroads that empires fought over for centuries. Long before it was called Belgrade, the city existed as Singidunum, a Roman frontier settlement. But its modern identity was shaped decisively by the arrival of the Slavs. When did the Slavs arrive? Slavic tribes reached the area of today’s Belgrade in the 6th and 7th centuries, during the great Slavic migrations into the Balkans. As Byzantine control weakened, Slavic settlers moved south of the Danube, establishing permanent communities. By the early Middle Ages, Slavic language, customs, and place names had replaced Roman and Latin dominance. The first recorded use of the name Belgrade appears in 878 AD, in a letter from Pope John VIII — already recognizing the city under its Slavic name. That matters. It means Belgrade was not merely inhabited by Slavs, but defined by them. A city that never belonged to just one empire Belgrade’s position made it a prize — and a battlefield. Cortisol is supposed to peak when you wake up and crash by 11pm. Hard training after 7pm spikes it back up at the worst possible window. Four nights a week of evening workouts and the daily curve flattens. The morning peak softens. The evening trough inflates. The shape inverts. A 2017 meta-analysis of 80 studies and 23,000 participants found that flatter cortisol curves predict higher mortality, more inflammation, worse cognition, and greater visceral fat. The hazard ratio for early death was 2.40. Total daily cortisol output didn't predict any of it. Curve shape carried the variance. Whitehall II followed 4,000 British civil servants for six years and got the same answer. Flatter slope, hazard ratio 1.30 for all-cause death, 1.87 for cardiovascular death. Independent of every covariate they measured. Robert Sapolsky's primate work shows what happens next. Subordinate baboons getting harassed daily show lower morning peaks and higher evening troughs than dominant baboons. The flattening comes first. Hippocampal atrophy follows. Cushing's patients show the same loss. PTSD veterans show the same. Three different pathways into chronic glucocorticoid exposure, one consistent brain effect, partially reversible when the curve gets restored. There's another loop running underneath. Visceral belly fat manufactures cortisol locally. The enzyme is 11β-HSD1. It converts inactive cortisone to active cortisol inside the fat cell. Mice with adipose-specific overexpression of this enzyme develop visceral obesity, insulin resistance, and metabolic syndrome on completely normal blood cortisol. The systemic level looks fine. The local tissue is bathed in glucocorticoid signaling. That's why "meditate to lower cortisol" doesn't shrink the belly. The belly is making its own. What rebuilds the curve is cheap. Train hard before late afternoon. Keep the four hours before bed for walks and stretching. Get morning sunlight in the first hour after waking. Anchor sleep timing within a 30-minute window. Each one steepens the morning peak and deepens the evening trough. Total daily cortisol barely moves. The curve gets sharper. Make the morning loud. Make the night quiet.

Many persons have shared this video with me. It has 11 million views on Instagram and 70K likes. Thats 70K people without critical thinking or lack of ability to fact check. Stay with me. This is a wild ride. I am not going into details of the person making the claim - because it is Deepak Chopra. Deepak Chopra is like turmeric-milk. You think milk becomes a "super-food" when turmeric enters the scene, but the fact is, turmeric is there just to waste your time. Same with Deepak Chopra. He is an 'embodiment of pseudoscience,' who, once upon a time was a physician, but now fully evolved into shell of "what was once a doctor" currently filled with mystic beliefs, white-washing Ayurveda, preaching transcendental meditation and quantum healing to prevent sickness. Sir Richard Dawkins called Chopra's claims "quantum jargon as plausible-sounding hocus pocus" and the scientific community has found that Chopra's treatments generally elicit nothing, because Chopra is a fraud who sells $350 meditation glasses to people who cant think for themselves. and Now the video. In it, a younger Deepak Chopra claims "with the power of the mind, one can change poison into nectar and nectar into poison." And he cites an actual scientific study to prove his claims. Only one little problem - that is not what the study concluded. As per Chopra, a study performed at the Ohio State University looked at a group of rabbits fed diet rich in cholesterol. One group showed high cholesterol, while the other showed lower levels of cholesterol. This was stunning, because all the rabbits were the same, they consumed same diet. So, what was different in the rabbit group that had lower cholesterol levels? Chopra says – it was happiness in those rabbits which led to better chemicals and chemical reaction in the brain that changed the cholesterol into a different pathway that did not hurt the heart. Why were they happy? Let us get into one of the most bizarrely misinterpreted study which led to what we now call as “The Rabbit Effect.” A type of rabbit, used in experiments, called the New Zealand white male rabbits, develop heart disease much like humans if fed a high-fat diet. So these rabbits are used to study effects of cholesterol in the heart using “diet experiments.” In 1978, Dr. Robert Nerem and his group fed a group of these rabbits high fat diet. At the end of the study, he measured the animals’ cholesterol, heart rates, and blood pressure. As expected, the cholesterol values were all high and virtually identical to one another. The rabbits had similar genes and ate the same diet. Now they all seemed destined for a heart attack or stroke. Only one aberrant problem. As the last step, Dr. Nerem needed to examine the rabbits’ tiny blood vessels to show cholesterol deposits there too. Looking through the microscope, he expected all the rabbits to show similar fatty deposits on the inside of their arteries. Instead, there was a huge variation in the fatty deposits between the animals. One group of rabbits had 60 percent fewer deposits than the other. What was happening? There was no clear biological explanation to this. They checked every little item they used in the experiment to see if that had caused changes. But every little thing was controlled and accounted for. Except one small thing. The researchers themselves. A Canadian postdoc named Murina Levesque had recently joined the lab. She was an unusually kind and caring individual. When it became apparent that all the animals with fewer fatty deposits were under Murina’s care, the team dug deeper. They noticed that Murina handled the animals differently. When she fed her rabbits, she talked to them, cuddled, and petted them. She did not throw the food at the little animals. She gave them food with love. So, prove this, the research group repeated the experiment, this time with tightly controlled conditions. They compared the little blood vessels of one group of rabbits cared for by Murina (food+love) to the arteries of another group of rabbits cared for in the standard way (only food). They found the same effect again. The paper was published in Science Magazine. This one: Social Environment as a Factor in Diet-Induced Atherosclerosis - So did the study prove that if you are happy, and the mind is free, poisonous substances can turn into nectar? - No, that was not what the study says. Remember – the study showed that high cholesterol levels in the blood was same in all rabbits who were on high fat diet. Only that the cholesterol deposits were lesser in the arteries of those who were fed with “kindness” – meaning who were less “stressed.” The study took the medical world on a wild ride because all the rabbit experiments would have to now look at how emotionally these animals were, to come to better conclusions from the interventions studied. So, a group of researchers specifically looked at “handling” and diet induced cholesterol deposits (atherosclerosis) in rabbits. They found that handling the animals did not have any effect on the atherosclerosis size inside the blood vessels and this was only roughly determined by the amount of cholesterol in food eaten. In the original “Rabbit Effect” study, the amount of food eaten between groups was not looked at. We now know that chronic stress leads to different behavioral patterns which also includes increased eating. Chronic life stress seems to be associated with a greater preference for energy- and nutrient-dense foods, namely those that are high in sugar and fat. Higher the stress, higher amount of food eaten, more the cholesterol and more importantly, more deposits inside the arteries which can be independent of cholesterol levels. How? One possible mechanism for this process is that chronic stress causes small blood vessel injury (endothelial damage), directly activating macrophages (an inflammatory cell), promoting foam cell formation, and generating the formation of atherosclerotic plaque inside small vessels. This mechanism involves numerous variables, including inflammation, signal pathways, lipid metabolism and endothelial function – and has nothing to do with cholesterol going to another pathway because of brain chemicals. Cholesterol is the body is metabolized through the same pathway whether you are happy, sad, or delirious. That is not what the rabbit study claimed or what it proved. It only made way for other studies to show that chronic stress could be an important factor that negatively impact heart and brain health which was independent of the food that you consume. Poison does not become nectar if you are happy and nectar does not become poison if you are sad. That is just Ayurvedic mumbo-jumbo from hocus-pocus self-help gurus who cite “Agni and the Digestive Fire” as the mechanism. “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” is more believable. If you take rat poison happily, you will still die. If you eat a banana while crying, you won’t die.

Bitcoin is down ~47% from its October 2025 ATH of $126K. Fear & Greed at single digits. "BTC to zero” Google searches at 5-year highs. ETF outflows mounting. People are calling for $40K, even $25K. So I animated 15 years of drawdown data to put this moment in context. - - - Left: BTC price (log scale), colored by drawdown regime. Right: The distribution of every single day Bitcoin has spent at each drawdown depth from an ATH, built up in real time as price evolves. Importantly, the distribution evolves and is not static - the peaks/valleys grow over time - but what is the trend in how they’re evolving? This tells you something important about what Bitcoin is becoming. - - - There are 3 predominant drawdown regions: 🟢Green = 0 to -15% (Regime 1) ⚪️White = -15% to -35% (Transition) 🔴Red = ≤ -35% (Regime 2) Watch it build. 2011: -92.7% bottom. The histogram is a thin red smear. Almost all of Bitcoin's short existence spent deep underwater. 2013-2015: Another cycle, another -72% drawdown. The distribution fills in a fat red tail between -60% and -80%. Over 1,500 days in drawdown. Most of them brutal. 2017: BTC makes a brief ATH at $11,562, but the histogram tells us that with 2,524 drawdown days, red still dominates. Bitcoin had spent most of its life getting punished. 2018: -78.4%. The -60 to -80% band fills in further. Again, Bitcoin getting punished. This has been the story of the old Bitcoin. Then something shifts. By 2021, the green bars near 0% start growing much more. Bitcoin is beginning to spend more time near its highs than it used to. The distribution is migrating left. 2022 bottom: -68.5%. Still deep, but shallower than every prior cycle bottom. Each cycle's worst drawdown has gotten less severe: -92.7% → -87% → -84% → -77% → -68.5% The floor keeps rising, the green keeps growing, and the red tail is still there - but it's shrinking as a share of the whole. The transition zone is gaining more share too, but still markedly less time there than red or green (for example we just recently spent nearly 90 days in this zone after the Oct ‘25 ATH). This is what maturation looks like in the data. Not the absence of drawdowns, but the gradual compression of their severity and the accumulation of time spent near highs. - - - So where are we now? Down ~47% from $126K. Sentiment is the worst since June 2022. Everyone's asking if this is 2018 again. Probably not. Bitcoin has spent a structurally larger share of time in Regime 1 than ever before, especially in this cycle. Green-white oscillations are replacing the deep red plunges. The dives into Regime 2 are getting shallower. We could still go lower from here, but the data is compressing the downside, cycle over cycle.
