Every now and then I think about how painful the Animorphs transformations must have been

real Animorphs-head here to tell you that the transformations are completely painless. This is described a couple of times as being WORSE than if there were pain, because feeling bones change shape and your organs swap places with no pain is a surreal experience

In the books, they're not painful at all when they shift, but they certainly feel the injuries they sustain and various other messed up things. Like I can easily list some REALLY dark moments from the books.

That would be AMAZING

In the books, they can feel their bones and organs squeezing and shifting around or even popping out of existence, but it doesn't actually hurt at all. Also, their clothes only morph with them when skintight, otherwise falling off or getting shredded depending on the size change.

They should reboot the show.

Imagine if every time they animorphed (or whatever it’s called) it was like America werewolf in London. Long and extremely painful
