Software engineers never die; they just transform into something else.

It’s not about “learning to code”. It’s about what you want to get from coding. You want apps, websites, algorithms, etc. it used to be WANT>>CODING>>RESULT. With A.I. it will do the coding part so that humans can just go from WANT>>RESULT.

Detrimental advice. Your job will be replaced. You will be in debt You will be fucked. AI is going to replace 90% of desk jobs.

In 10 years we will look back to this and it was the worst advice ever. Imagine doing any IQ related job as your safety net in the age of singularity

So true! Those fundamentals always matter more than the flashy new frameworks. Clean code and solid understanding beats trendy tech stacks every time.

She’s comparing programming language innovation with full blown out Artificial Intelligence…just to give programmers hope…make no mistake software engineering is about to witness a huge change every programmer should just brace for impact

Not the same at all!! When new Lego's come out, all the kids want them to build something from their imagination that couldn't have been done with the old-school blocks. If Lego put out an AI robot that could not only make new blocks, but also imagine things to build WAY better than the kids..... What kind would want to compare their tiny ideas to the one that the AI robot came up with??

@grok give your deep opinion on this. Without any bias, be blunt with facts and forecast the future of software engineering looks like in next 10 years.

If you’ve coded anything with AI you will realize it’s really good at simple tasks and process. Once you start thinking about architecture and complex designs it takes forever to vibe code that thing. Possible but frustrating

So true. Its tempting to chase the shiny new framework of the week, but solid fundamentals are what actually build a long career and are transferable across any tool. If you had to tell a developer to focus on just one fundamental concept, what would it be?

More people will do it, like BA’s who don’t need to request a change, they just make the change. More people means less money to do it, and if AI does so much of it. Is it worth 100k in debt for the degree? It’s not as simple as will code go away it’s is it worth going into life debt for something everyone will be able to do. In 4 years the Ai will be 1000x better than it is now at coding in complex environments. Some people want to do things everyone can’t do.
