Ralph Goodale: There has been a tremendous amount of national cohesion around this whole dispute with the US. And that is coming, not from politicians or political parties or governments or opposition; it is coming genuinely from the Canadian people. It has been very real from the very beginning. It has been sustained. It has been sincere and spontaneous. It's one of the most remarkable displays of national cohesion and unity that I think we've seen in the lifetime of our country.

#WATCH | Bareilly, UP: On CAA notification, All India Muslim Jamaat President Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Bareilvi says, "The Govt of India has implemented the CAA law. I welcome this law. This should have been done much earlier... There are a lot of misunderstandings among the Muslims regarding this law. This law has nothing to do with Muslims. Earlier there was no law to provide citizenship to the non-muslims coming from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh who faced atrocities based on religion... Hence this law has been made... Crores of Indian Muslims will not be affected by this law at all... This law is not going to take away the citizenship of any Muslim... In the past years, it has been seen that there were protests, it was because of misunderstandings. Some political people created misunderstandings among the Muslims... Every Muslim of India should welcome the CAA..." (11.03)

Zoe Cohen says that as a Jewish woman she has been on a number of the pro Palestinian marches & she has always experienced a warm welcome from everyone else on the march. The only time she has ever received antisemitism or aggression has been from the far right or zionists.

Wow! Small business owners are about to have eyes everywhere. A coffee shop with AI is now watching everything. In real time. Every cup sold? Tracked. Every customer? Tracked. Every second of wait time? Tracked. The AI knows: → How many cups have you made today → How long has the customer been standing there This isn't a corporation. This is a coffee shop. Walmart has been doing this for years across thousands of stores. Now the same tech is coming to a small café. The salon. The family restaurant. The question isn't whether this tech is coming. It's already here.

#WATCH | CPI(M) leader Subhashini Ali says, "Left parties of the country have decided that there must be a demonstration or protest every day across the country. This Govt is stealing our fundamental rights. Constitution can function when every citizen has the right to vote freely. They are ending it, and we cannot tolerate it. So, the protest will continue, however long it takes."

The student protest at Jantar Mantar against endemic exam paper leaks is not the first show of mass dissent against the Narendra Modi government. Before this, there has been a farmers’ movement, the anti-CAA protests, and several other protest mobilisations by workers, Dalits, and adivasi communities. The government has weathered all of these protests comfortably. In this edition of In Focus episode G Sampath and Saroj Giri discuss the big question: is the students’ movement different? Is it a political challenge unlike any that the Modi government has faced during its 12 years in power? Watch the full episode here:
