There was a time when views didn't exist, and the world functioned fine. You have placed value, and purpose in a falsely generated ideal that views equals value.

Views don't count for ant motivation because most of the time it's from someone scrolling PAST your post with zero intentions of viewing/interaction with it, or just a straight up bot. The likes are what build that motive because people stopped to actually look at it.

This is very nice and all... But what about artists like me who usually has zero views? This is even more disappointing because it means Twitter doesn't show up my work to people cos it has shadowbanned me. 😞 And I'm not sure why, I don't make nsfw art.

"Views" just mean your post appeared on someone's TL. It doesn't differentiate between those who click on it vs. those who scrolled past at the speed of light. Views should not reflect how well your art is received, but rather how well the algo has expanded your reach.

I applaud the visison, but as others have said, views are worthless. Anyone including you contributes to viewcount, so it's impossible to measure.

This is why I don't like to focus on social media numbers. It causes people to reduce others to a number. I prefer to worry about who those people are.
