Many artists are scared to be judged in the court of the public. They will never be accepted anyways (truly), so If you want to say things and be authentic in art and with your own lens, you cannot care about that judgment. Being seen as "agreeable" or not is not your problem.

The issue today is that criticism of the status quo is considered heretic by some, who think things are perfect now. So when old episodes of 'Friends' are getting 'content warnings' for not toeing the 21st narrative you know something is wrong.
