Imagine roman engineers at the time discussing this in latin, proceeding to just use it without even leaving any written document.

Imagine making a b-movie in 1988 on your own, shooting on film, using stop motion, investing just 18k $ and getting this result

When McFarlane designed Spawn he exaggerated the design of the cape using his knowledge of graphics design. It of course moved and twisted unrealistically, but realism is not the point, it's spectacle. For the 1997 movie version they tried and succeeded at capturing it, sacrificing the unnecessary realism

Technology has advanced so much and yet, the peak of cinema is still 1999, from every point of view.

This piece of trash is a good way to actually better appreciate how well directed and choreographed the original is. Only meaningful blows deserve a cut and when a change in fight strategy or a block happens, there us a 180 deg flip. Notice also how the rhythm of the fight and editing matches the music seamlessly. The AI generated video is just a spastic random reenactment of this without any design, rhythm, purpose.

It's quite unlikely that animation that looks like this will ever be made again

I haven't been excited about a new italian movie in decades. I am happy to share the trailer for "Orfeo", directed by Virgilio Villoresi which came out yesterday. It looks beautiful, shot on film in 16mm, based on a Dino Buzzati comic from the 60s. Check the comments for more.

A very simple action scene shot correctly: 1 - Actors always in focus 2 - Scene is cluttered and yet blocked in such a way to have actors clear against the environment 3 - Camera never shakes except when kicked by Scorpion 4 - Cuts only when Cage is hit, never when Scorpion, giving rhe idea that Scorpion is barely getting hurt. 5 - Choreography and camera movements were measured and decided accurately, you can't waste film 6 - The light is behind the actors, but no glare or lens flare makes the actors perfectly visible 7 - The light is strong as it should be 8 - Cage is on the right and Scorpion in the left, in every shot. This used to be standard
