Everyone: GitHub Desktop is better! No, VS Code! Me: ...I just use `git add -p`. Walks you through each change, hunk for hunk, and lets you accept with `y`. It’s like a mini code review before you commit. Pair that with dandavison/delta, and you get syntax highlighting too 👀

I always find it hard to see all the changes through a terminal. Mostly cause the window size is too small that I need an IDE to see the whole picture

skill issue. if you're not doing `git add .` all the time. are you even serious about version control?

my problem is that I’m so addicted to git add . aliased to `gaa`, I do it without even thinking sometimes. and I always end up relying on the PR to review my changes. maybe I need to force my muscle memory to learn git add -p.

Lazygit is underrated.

I can't stop using Magit in Emacs, which functions like an interactive `git status` where you can easily eg. revert parts of hunks by just selecting lines. `git add -p` to me feels like flying blind between hunks in comparison

That is nice but I just can’t get myself to give up the nice UI in Fork for doing commits

Nothing beats a surgical hunk edit. We use `git add -p` + delta while tuning the code that orchestrates our grow-room constellations—clean commits, clean crops. Tip: switch diff.algorithm to patience for even clearer star-map hunks.

I did not know about this, but I use lazygit

Typically i just use `git commit - - verbose . ` and scroll through and double check

I also dont like IDEs git integration. Somehow I have never been able to build trust on IDEs that will run the commands that I intend. Th positive side is, I am not bound to any IDE. Negative is that sometimes it takes 2 mins to complete a task which can be dkne in 2 clicks

Nah this is shit, VSCode is way better and cleaner. You see side by side changes and just click a button to commit/push.
