EVERYONE IN BITCOIN IS FOLLOWING SELFISH INCENTIVES. THAT'S EXACTLY WHY IT WORKS. Miners want bitcoin. The work they do to earn it makes Bitcoin's history expensive to rewrite. Users want to keep the rules they signed up for. In 2017, the businesses and pools claiming over 80% of the... show more

I wrote the whole thing up: why every miner doubling their machines leaves them all with the same share, what a mining pool can and can't do with your hashpower, why fees ignore the amount you send, how the 2017 fork fight ended, and where the miners went after China.

Love Swan and love your videos! Me and my wife have opened two Bitcoin IRA’s at Swan because we feel confident in your company’s mission!

Go Sox!! (Only time I'll ever say that 😂)

It's a deep 🐇🕳️, but one worth going down! Pools look like the obvious weak point until you remember they usually don't own the machines pointed at them. Miners can switch in minutes. That said, you are spot on miners should think through where they point their hash

In a world of AI slop, and clickbait - these videos are like the only thing I look forward to when i'm on the internet.

Thanks for the game theory object lesson!

Show me the incentives, and I'll show you the outcomes...

It's the... CIRCLE OF LIFE 😂 (sing it with me now)

artisans finna eat when everything turns robotic fr

More on miner/pool centralisation and how to address it please 🙏🏻

selfish incentives doing the security work is the whole trick tbh

Cory, I'm really curious how many steps you get a day, because every time I "see" you, you're always walking😄.. Also, "Nobody has to agree on what Bitcoin is for" is so true!

Been getting btw 12000-22000 daily the past couple months

Wow, that's really a lot. I get around 8000 a day and already feel like that's plenty

Exchanges pre-committed to keep the "BTC" ticker on the incumbent chain and list the fork as B2X, and B2X futures were already trading at a fraction of BTC before it launched. SegWit2x got called off that November even with ~83% of miners behind the New York Agreement.

Bitcoin have been successful because 99% of the people who own it, don't understand it. This includes the Gurus and the Pundits.

Excellent thanks. 🫡

Love it. Good video.

Thank you!

Nobody needs to agree on the purpose of Bitcoin; the pieces fit together perfectly because each actor pursues their own economic self-interest independently.

Bitcoin is a determinate structure (protocol) constituted by its laws, mediated by its rules, and evidenced in its behavior.
