Naval Ravikant’s checklist for starting a company “The most important thing is there are no formulas. At the end of the day, you have to do what you love, and you have to do it even though people tell you it’ll never work. But that being said, if there was a formula [for starting a company], I would put it something like this.” Naval started seven companies before AngelList and this is the checklist he recommends running through before starting a startup: 1. Pick a great cofounder. This is most important: “You can do a company on your own, but it’s like you can raise a child on your own, but you probably shouldn’t. You need someone who’s going to be there with you.” This has it’s own checklist. Your cofounder should be: a. Very high intelligence (”hopefully they make you feel dumb, or they’re not smart enough”) b. Very high energy (”They should be extremely hardworking. A founder is someone who never has to be motivated. You should not have to be telling them to do their job.”) c. Very high integrity. (”a smart, hardworking crook who’s going to cheat you is the worst kind of person to be paired up with.”) 2. Pick a very large market. “Notice I don’t talk about the idea. I think ideas are almost irrelevant… The more important thing is that you pick a large space that you’re knowledgeable and passionate about. And then you will figure out what the right thing to do within that space is.” You want to be able to say to investors: “This is a space where there’s a huge market. I’m really knowledgeable and passionate about it. Here’s the great person that I have doing it with me. And here’s the minimum viable product that we have built. That will show that we can test in the marketplace… You iterate until you get to product/market fit… And then you go and you raise money from people you trust. And you use that money to scale.”

Scientists don’t know what they are going to discover. They have to try things. They have to have curiosity and ideas, but they also have to have the knowledge to try things. Very often, it leads to nothing; it’s a waste. But we didn’t know when we started it’s a waste. But when something does work. When something clicks, it is exciting and rewarding but it’s never just one click. You get a result on it, you’re hopeful, you build on it. Maybe it’s confirmed you’re even more hopeful. So it’s an incremental process. It is never one thing - boom we discovered a major thing, my god this is it. It is more like walking up a flight of stairs where each step counts and the higher up the stairs you go the better you can see what’s on top and become excited about what’s there and how you can use.

Niko Medved on the fans: I just refuse, and I have since I got here, I refuse to say that we can’t build this thing back. College basketball matters in the Twin Cities, it really does, it’s our job to make it matter. It’s games like this that start to get that going again. I love having the students rush the court, it’s supposed to be fun. You want them to come to the game and enjoy being there, rush the court, see us win. They go home and they had a blast, well you know what, they’re probably going to show up Friday too…and they’re probably going to bring their friends, I hope they do. I really don’t think that exists. 🐶 whatever it is, if something makes your heart lean toward it, that’s a good thing. that already means you’re someone blessed enough to have something you care about. 🐶 don’t worry about it too much. if you like something, just keep liking it with all your heart. im rooting for you. that means you’ve got at least one person cheering you on, right? not everyone may support you, but I do. i think that’s something people really need 🐶 bc i’ve seen a lot of posts on Weverse where people say they don’t know what they like, or they’re not sure if it’s okay to like something. they worry if other people think it’s weird 🐶 so just don’t worry so much about other people’s opinions. u know what I mean, right? sometimes other people’s hobbies or interests look more impressive or ‘high-class’ and you might think yours looks small or embarrassing, but you don’t need to think like that. there’s no such thing. 🐶 if I think about myself, I like rock music, punk, subculture stuff, films, design.. things like that. does that make me a “low-class person”? no right? 🐶 so don’t think like that. I hope you all can be people who love what you love without hesitation. as treasure makers and as individuals. im rooting for you. fighting!

You know, just tell me about your kids. Tell me about the medical conditions. And tell me about how many shots they get. And it’s a straight line. The more shots you get, the more likely you are to get autism. And it’s the same thing for ADHD. It’s the same thing for PANDAS. It’s the same thing for autoimmune diseases. I mean that it is basically the more shots you get, the less healthy the kids are.”

Eventually OKC going to have to make a pick obviously it’s going to be SGA but somebody going to have to do that. It’s going to keep happening these young teams that we like, like the Jazz they going to have to make a pick eventually. Timberwolves going to have to make a pick.
