Evolution is a theory and theories in science are facts to a very high extent.

Yeah, but there is nothing wrong with it called evolution as a theory. See the definition of theory lol.

Carl Sagan also said: "Extinction is the rule. Survival is the exception."

It's just one macro process of dominance by advantage. It arose long before we started understanding molecules and atoms and how they respond to environmental conditions so Darwin's stuff is an awesome observation and practical application of advantage in the probability process but isn't the bees knees and be all and end all of the story of life as some might like to believe.

No, it's a theory because it can never be definitively proved. Same as you can't prove we don't all live in a simulation, that no one but you really exists or that there is a God. Everything that's true can't be proved a fact.
