Michael Fassbender has entered a stage of his career where he’s routinely playing a tight-lipped, sleek agent of some sort with limited but meaningful dialogue (see The Killer, The Agency, Black Bag). All of these performances are excellent from Fassbender. But a reminder that before Fassbender found this stage of his career, he played an excellent Magneto. X-Men First Class will always have my stamp of approval & Fassbender is the reason.

A Most Wanted Man was Philip Seymour Hoffman’s final performance as a leading man. While he made other on-screen appearances around this time, this turned out to be PSH’s last big part. And boy, is it fucking great. Hoffman plays a German intelligence agent trying to hunt down a terrorist. I love the creative swings Hoffman took in this performance, including his accent. It’s just another reminder of how excellent this guy was his entire career. 🎂

Captain Howzer's speech from this episode of The Bad Batch is genuinely one of the best moments in Star Wars animation and isn't discussed nearly as much as it should be. Still gives me goosebumps years later. Watching all of the other Clone Troopers drop their shields, despite knowing the consequences of not following Imperial orders, is so emotionally powerful. An excellent reminder that these were soldiers made to protect The Republic, and never meant to serve an Empire.

Your baby wants nothing more than to be like you. 🏈 Get a load of this little apprentice, who is spending a Saturday afternoon learning to watch college football in the style of her father. Her posture and focused attention closely mirror dad’s. But the real highlight here is how she reacts to his expression of frustration with a call by the referees - mimicking dad’s reaction to a first down that he (and hence the duo) believes was unearned, her little arms flailing in disbelief, just like his. It’s an excellent reminder that young children are always watching and learning from their most cherished teachers, even when we don’t realize they’re doing it. Always be the example you want to see imitated. This great video was shared to IG by bry.cross.

Caller Phillip calmly and logically debates Sean Plunket over his valid concerns over National & Acts proposed eRUC - digital tracking system. Phillips logical argument is excellent and he details concerns of how the system could be used to limit freedom of movement. He raises the unlawful overreach during lockdown, GPS tracking would give the state massive powers. With this technology they can simply remotely turn your car off, or with the click of a mouse impose a (virtual) geo fence - meaning your car will not drive part a certain area. “This is a system for enforcing authoritarianism and we need to be very very careful” What do you think the Govt would have done if it had this system when it lost its mind and all sense of proportionality during the lockdowns and the parliament protests?
