excited to share Gather, an ๐ผ๐ณ๐ณ๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ-๐ณ๐ถ๐ฟ๐๐ app for cultivating, curating, and revisiting multimedia collections that sync with Are.na (peep the โ๏ธ mode in this tiny demo)

Gather doesn't require internet or even an โaccountโ to work. All your data is yours and stored locally on your device. (any collections you choose to sync with arena are synced when you next open the app with connection)

it also has dedicated interfaces to... - โtext yourselfโ phrases & images - organize media into collections - review saved content while co-opting your scroll itch they reflect a personal expression of how i've wished to interface with the data i come across everyday

i made this to combine the speed of opening Notes app to log stuff with the structured data curation of something like arena i've also never made a mobile app... so iterated on this on and off over the past several months to get it into a state where i use it daily

been really enjoying Gather for cultivating a bunch of tiny collections with things I find while on the go / from my phone - "faces" found in misc objects - life vignettes - descriptions of people - hopeful messages to revisit

early access for iOS is available to my sponsors, who enable this work. i appreciate any support for my indie developer work if you can๐งก otherwise, you can reply, and ill dm you when it launches publicly!

planning to open-source the code after release so the community can contribute / fork it hoping this is the seed of an ecosystem of community-made local-first clients that connect to arbitrary platforms how would our data interfaces evolve if anyone could create their own?
