They see us once the game is going the popcorn's been popped and the lights are brighter. It takes so much more like sacrifice and discipline and things over the course if you want to be really great at this and if you want to do it for a long period of time. It's so many hours that you got to commit to it. There's so many things that you maybe want to do that you can't if you want to be great but everybody's journey is different. I've said it countless times before in pretty much all my videos over the last year(s): If you're serious about software engineering (i.e., you want to get or keep a job or get serious work done) => You NEED to be open to AI! Use it as a tool. Don't dismiss it as "slop" or a fad. If that's your take, you need to THINK AGAIN. The Zig approach of banning AI is NOT the way unless you're doing this for your personal joy. Which is fine. It really is. But it will NOT land you a job, if that's what you're going for. And rightfully so, because I truly am convinced that you ARE way more productive with AI. When using it correctly. As a tool. Which is what we're all still figuring out.

My take on it all is the average Canadian is not that stupid, and they understand the importance of having economic ties with US and many countries around the world. To say that we're not going to do business with a country that, traditionally for over a hundred years bought 75% of our output, that's sheer stupidity. That has to be worked out, and to me, it's just a giant NAFTA 3 negotiation. If you think Trump doesn't like Pierre, well, then you want Pierre because he would be the stronger negotiator. But he's also conservative, so is the American government. It's not about one individual or another at the end of the day, and this is why Canadians, I think, are gonna figure this out in this election. It's about the policy, the policies of the countries. Is it pro-business? Is it pro-growth? Is it pro-energy? All of these things matter. Canada has fallen to the bottom through poor policy. Now, do you want more of that? Because that's what it sounds like you're getting if you vote for Carney. You get more. It's just Trudeau 2.0.

My take on it all is the average Canadian is not that stupid, and they understand the importance of having economic ties with US and many countries around the world. To say that we're not going to do business with a country that, traditionally for over a hundred years bought 75% of our output, that's sheer stupidity. That has to be worked out, and to me, it's just a giant NAFTA 3 negotiation. If you think Trump doesn't like Pierre, well, then you want Pierre because he would be the stronger negotiator. But he's also conservative, so is the American government. It's not about one individual or another at the end of the day, and this is why Canadians, I think, are gonna figure this out in this election. It's about the policy, the policies of the countries. Is it pro-business? Is it pro-growth? Is it pro-energy? All of these things matter. Canada has fallen to the bottom through poor policy. Now, do you want more of that? Because that's what it sounds like you're getting if you vote for Carney. You get more. It's just Trudeau 2.0.

And I think a mind that is exposed to holistic thinking, thinking that is open to inputs from around the world, that's when you'll make a good decision. If you don't spend time at home, if you're not spending time with friends, not reading, and don't have time to reflect, how will you bring the right inputs into making a decision?... I don't want it to be about quantity. Ask me what's the quality of my work. Don't ask me how many hours I work...."
