The The Olympic Games decision to restore Belarus under its national symbols ahead of LA28 is difficult to reconcile with the very principles the Olympic movement claims to uphold. Belarus remains complicit in Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine – providing territory, infrastructure and political cover for attacks against civilians. Olympic ideals are about peace and human dignity. Not about rehabilitating accomplices of aggression through international sport.
