My first Comic Con panel was… weird— and an absolute blast! Thanks to our cast for coming out and sharing a special moment with fans, and an extra thanks to Charlie for letting me be his other half and being down to do weird shit. We were told by the event that we were the first panel in this hall to reach max capacity this year (2100 seats!), which is actually insane. #SDCC was a reminder of how incredible everyone who is part of making Dispatch possible really is— cast, crew, and community. Thanks all!

In celebration of Pride, we’re remembering those that came before. Our video scrapbook today is dedicated to the men of the war years. For thousands of gay men, World War II served as an unintentional, massive coming out experience. For the first time ever, this “great awakening” allowed homosexuals – from farms, ranches, and small towns across the country – to discover they were not alone. On their way to the front – in cities like New York, San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles – they experienced their first contact with other men like themselves. Look at these faces. Romance couldn’t help but blossom. But our hearts break when we contemplate what the future held. Some, separated by the exigencies of war, never knew what happened to their newly discovered “friend”. Some returned home to the life of a deeply closeted “straight” man with a wife and children. Some didn’t return at all. But the very existence of these photos, likely hidden away for years, speaks to the love these men discovered. And perhaps never found again.🏳️‍🌈

For the first time ever, this “great awakening” allowed homosexuals – from farms, ranches, and small towns across the country – to discover they were not alone. On their way to the front – in cities like New York, San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles – they experienced their first contact with other men like themselves. Look at these faces. Romance couldn’t help but blossom. But our hearts break when we contemplate what the future held. Some, separated by the exigencies of war, never knew what happened to their newly discovered “friend”. Some returned home to the life of a deeply closeted “straight” man with a wife and children. Some didn’t return at all. But the very existence of these photos, likely hidden away for years, speaks to the love these men discovered. And perhaps never found again.🏳️‍🌈

Do you run a Card Club for Kids? Have a school/teacher that uses cards for clubs? I want to hook you up! I’ve created multiple boxes of base cards from football, basketball, baseball and entertainment cards and I want to get them in the hands of kids in the hobby! I’m not looking for anything in return, I just want to help grow the hobby. I’ll take care of all the shipping costs. I’m sorry I do not have tcg/Pokémon and I can’t separate out by sport. Boxes come as they are and each box has a TON of cards. Also huge shoutout to blake jamieson who sent along some cool cards from his collaboration with Topps to add to each box.
