Context/Details: January 2, 2024, Brazil. In a shocking incident at the Praia do Murubira beach, 24-year-old Gerson Carvalho Alencar Correia was arrested for attempted femicide. The event, which took place on a Tuesday afternoon, saw Gerson attacking a woman with a bottle to her head. This violent act was witnessed by beachgoers who then chased after Gerson in an attempt to detain him. The pursuit of Gerson was captured on video by other beach visitors and later shared on social media. Despite an attempt by a man to pull Gerson by his shorts, he managed to escape. At one point, a police officer is seen pointing a gun at the suspect, causing distress among the onlookers. However, his freedom was short-lived as other police officers continued the chase and soon apprehended him. The victim of this assault was taken to the Hospital Geral de Mosqueiro and, fortunately, her life was not in danger. After receiving medical treatment and being discharged, she confirmed that the aggressor was her partner and revealed that the attack occurred following a dispute between them. The Civil Police of Pará, upon being contacted, stated that "the man was arrested in flagrante delicto for the crime of attempted feminicide and is at the disposal of the Justice. The victim was taken to a health unit and, after medical discharge, was heard by the police team of the Mosqueiro station." Gerson was presented at the Seccional Urbana de Mosqueiro by the Military Police. He was formally charged and subsequently transferred to the Secretaria de Estado de Administração Penitenciária (Seap), where he remains in custody, awaiting trial for the crimes attributed to him. Today's inquest into the murder of Rex Masai marks my 300th court appearance in solidarity with victims of illegal arrests and sociopolitical injustices since the June 2024 protests. In today's session, the Investigating officer has confirmed that the officer, Isaiah Murangiri Nduba, who was captured along Uhuru highway with a blue jeans, was the same officer captured carrying a small gun and a baton at the scene where Rex Masai was shot. The IO also states that Mr Isaiah Murangiri, according to arms movement register, was issued with a teargas launcher and on the camera, the same officer is seen in possession of a baton and a small pistol. We would also like to inform Kenyans that the arms movement register was revealed to have been altered during the 22nd July 2025 hearing. The IO has also stated before the court that Isaiah's statement had three numbers, two registered under his name and one registered under Michael Oginga Okello. Stating also that Isaiah decided to mislead the investigations by giving misleading information. The IO reveals that Safaricom data, under one of the numbers registered under Murangiri, revealed that Isaiah was not stationed at KICC as he had revealed in his statement. The data shows that he was at Development House, Wakulima House, New Keraita building, Kariako area and St Ellis along Wabera street. He also says that Wabera street is where one of the witnesses identified as Fredrick, spotted the officer chasing after other demonstrators. A ballistic report shows that the cartridge that was picked at the International house was 5.56 by 45mm calibre, ammunition fired from a rifle and could not be linked to the two identified pistols issued for forensic analysis. The IO says that the OCS in his statement, stated that he never deployed officers in civilian to handle protests. That begs the question, how did an undercover officer appear in public with a launcher? He has concluded by saying that they were unable to get the firearm from which the bullet that injured Rex Masai came from. #JusticeForRexMasai

BREAKING: FBI Whistleblower has submitted the below statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee alleging that the FBI suppressed investigations into Rudy Giuliani and other Trump allies. - As detailed in the Whistleblower statement below (video), and reported on by Business Insider, this current agent was told repeatedly by his superiors to stop investigating multiple individuals in Trump's orbit. - According to the statement, the FBI agent acquired intelligence from undisclosed sources, indicating that Giuliani had purportedly undertaken compensated assignments for Pavel Fuks, a Ukrainian oligarch and a designated "asset of the Russian intelligence services." (Note that Rolling Stone had reported this previously.) - The agent reports that he had also provided material to the FBI regarding Hunter Biden and Burisma. He reports that superiors were "delighted that I had collected this information about Burisma." This same superior is who allegedly shut down his investigations into Giuliani and others. - In January of last year, he filed an internal complaint under the Whistleblower Protection Act which alleged that "numerous acts of intelligence suppression of my reporting related to foreign influence and the Capital riots, retaliatory acts and defamation of my own character." - The agent also alleged that Giuliani raised money to create a film about Joe Biden prior to the election, but never created it. - The agent alleged that the New York field office of the FBI was upset about the material he was reporting: "In the midst of my reporting involving Giuliani, which had previously been identified by my supervisor as 'high impact,' my management told me they received a call from a supervisor in [the New York field office], who they did not identify," the statement says. "This supervisor had taken issue with my reporting." I think we can all agree that transparency is important and all whistleblower claims, both about Biden and Trump investigations should thoroughly be examined. Thoughts?

There was a major police operation today around the Victorian Parliament House precinct to protect a group of Victorian women holding a rally to discuss women's issues. Multiple police units including the mounted branch were deployed to ensure the safety of the women. A large police cordon was also established around Parliament House to ensure that a counter-protest by trans rights activists could not reach the women and disrupt their rally. At one point, former Member of Parliament Andy Meddick was seen using his parliamentary access pass to bypass the cordon and antagonize the women by waving a trans flag. He was escorted away by police. A small breakaway group of trans rights activists attempted to enter the women's space but was held at bay by police. At the conclusion of the rally, the women were escorted by police to a safe area to leave the space; however, that space was rushed by some trans rights activists, and even former MP Andy Meddick was seen loitering there and getting into arguments with the women. There was no pepper spray or violence in the cordoned-off space for the women, and it was a peaceful rally despite attempts to intimidate them. The media are again trying to frame innocent women as being party to the violence by the trans rights activists against police and members of the public in their specific areas or at a later time. You can see at one point in this highlight video trans rights activists holding up signs calling for violence against police. This is a small highlight video a full livestream is available via my Facebook.
