A lot of players and parents struggle with the idea that you don’t get unlimited mistakes and chances. At some point, if you aren’t producing, you won’t be able to play. This will happen to 95% of players.. whether it’s for a couple possessions, for a couple games, or for a season. The real tell is the players ability to learn from it and grow!

"You want to give your players information, yet, they have to react." "In baseball 70% of the hits are in front of the outfield. So if you train to hit them over the outfielders, you're training for 30%." Says he doesn't want players overly focused on metrics and analytics -- need to go compete at some point.

How can players make a big jump next year?!?! For High School and College players… they all put in work with their coaches. Most of them have a trainer they see to put in work. So what is the separator? 1. Are you working on the right things with your coaches that are going to help you be a better player working your team and overall 2. HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU PUT IN THE GYM ON YOUR OWN. This is a HUGE SEPARATOR because this time isn’t dependent on anyone and is unlimited in how much you do. Almost every player I’ve worked with that has made a BIG JUMP has put in extra time on their own. It’s not only because of the work, but it also helps players understand their game better and gives them a bigger investment in their development. As a player you should assess that part of your development today!

Coaching from the stands is disrespectful to … Your kid!! The best players can figure out solutions on their own, they don’t need help from the stands. Each game is an opportunity for players to learn how to do that. Yes, they will fail, but they will learn. And ultimately they will be a better player because of it. Shouting instructions from the stands only shows that you don’t believe they have the ability to make adjustments, and you aren’t good with failing so they can grow.

Breathe. Slow the game down. One breath in. One breath out. Flush it. 2️⃣ Refocus Pick a focal point. The logo on your bat. The foul pole. Focus on it. Take a deep breath. Get back to the present. 3️⃣ Visualize See your best swing. Drive a double in to the gap in your mind. Everything happens twice. Once in your mind, once on the field. 4️⃣ Prepare Confidence isn’t magic. It’s built in practice. Trust your training. 5️⃣ Believe You have to believe you’re one swing away, because you are.
