@doofgeek4011 Get deep enough into Catholicism and it’s just people quoting councils and popes at each other.

Bible Studies of a variety of the more difficult and controversial Bible subjects like the Trinity, Once saved always saved, Sabbath, Grace and the Law, death, hell and the 8th Day, and many more.

I noticed that this ex-pastor / Bible scholar is NOT NAMED. Why is that? I doubt he was a sola Scriptura pastor and he is definitely NOT a Bible scholar. (Even if he was, I could find hundreds of legitimate Bible scholars that would rip his opinions to shreds.) This clip obliterates nothing (except for about a minute of time wasted!)

The fatal flaw that ended his logic was when he said, “Each individual Christian becomes their own pope”. That is trying to push people into a framework that doesn’t exist other than within an organization that is antithetical to God. That is akin to a situation where a person sees a piece of paper catch on fire and that person stomps it out and he replies by saying: “When people try to fight their own fires then they become an arsonist.” An arsonist is the exact opposite of that person’s actions and intent. The only head of the church is Jesus.

Waiting for the part where he “OBLITERATES” Sola Scriptura, not just misrepresents it…

You guys fight sola scriptura to keep teaching non biblical doctrines, denying the authority of the word of God.

A strong view of tradition is exactly what Jesus was calling out in Matt 15:9 and the reason he was so often annoyed with His disciples for not understanding what God had clearly laid out in scripture (Luke 24:25). The church fathers help us because they walked with the Lord not because of some silly unbiblical idea of interpretive authority.

They do agree on one thing and one thing only: the Catholic Church is wrong.

Who will infallibly interpret the interpreters? This doesnt solve the issue. It just adds another layer to the issue. If God cant communicate to humans clearly, humans certainly cant. Once again the "sort of scriptura" crew kiss their idols, pray to the dead, and lecture you on the bible.
