A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. BKC took that first step today, participating wholeheartedly in the BKC Public Transport Day, an MMRDA-led public initiative. Dr Sanjay Mukherjee, IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA, wholeheartedly participated in this initiative and encouraged public transport day volunteers on the way. Mumbai 3.0, India’s Next Investment Frontier, Takes Centre Stage at WEF 2026 At the World Economic Forum 2026, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis announced a focused push to attract global investments into Mumbai 3.0, a next-generation city being developed by the MMRDA, envisioned to be three times the size of Mumbai. Backed by transformative infrastructure including the Navi Mumbai International Airport, the Atal Setu, and integrated multimodal connectivity, over 675 sq km of new urban area is being opened up, forming one of India’s largest future-ready urban agglomerations. Also known as KSC New Town, Mumbai 3.0 is planned as a thematic global city focused on Ease of Living and Ease of Doing Business. It will comprise Edu City, Medi City, Sports City, Innovation City and GCC (Global Capability Centre) City, positioning the MMR as a global investment hotspot for new-age businesses. He reviewed the ongoing works and gave instructions to contractors, agencies and concerned officials to expedite the work and also maintain safety and quality of construction. The SCLR Phase 2 is nearing completion with 98% physical work already completed. This is the final phase of the SCLR project. The SCLR corridor, with its multiple arms, elevated sections and critical interchanges, now stands at the threshold of full operationalisation, marking the transition from piecemeal connectivity to a fully integrated urban mobility system. At Mumbai Tech Week 2026, in the presence of Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, MMRDA and TEAM signed a landmark MoU, with Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA, joining TEAM Co-Founders Aakrit Vaish and Harsh Jain to formalise the partnership.
