Explaining “yellow-flag-gate” & a confusing end to Qualifying. Fair play to George Russell - did a great lap, knew the rules & got pole! I am still a bit confused why it was not an instant double yellow flag for when a car has crashed on the fastest corner...

@GeorgeRussell63 Yeah it's good for George but it's such a bad show for the FIA. This on top of the pit speed sensors at Monaco is making them look amereurish.

@GeorgeRussell63 So, everybody already forgot Jules Bianchi? Crashed car in barriers, other cars running in 200 kmph curve with yellow flag only?! And at the end, congrats and applause for guy who slowed for 0.05 sec... Unbelievable!!

None of the drivers are at fault . The Marshalls, stewards or whoever decided to keep it a single yellow need to explain their reasons. 22seconds after the incident? What would’ve happened if another car lost control on that corner and rammed into Max? Serious breach of health and safety rules.

@GeorgeRussell63 at least every drivers knows it now: if single yellow, you can keep full throttle! Good luck in future incidents! Crashes like we see in 24h of Spa or other will happen in F1, but that is a call from the FIA

@GeorgeRussell63 Regardless his lift was still not close to enough Lifting off by 0.150 is barely anything

Kept it a single yellow for the British driver? Plus confusion with the light, kimi thinking it was a double? You mentioned you thought kimi was a double ( could’ve been the sun glare )? It 100% should’ve been a double yellow with max still in the wall on such a dangerous corner. Who chose not to upgrade straightaway?

@GeorgeRussell63 if it was any other (non british) driver, and it would have been a deleted lap time and a grid drop... why did the panel go green when there was a crashed car still there? any way, i hope karma sorts this out again

@GeorgeRussell63 Agree! Can't blame George for that one But some of questions appears Why no double yellow immediately? Why LED panel before T9 show green in some occasion with Max's car crashed on the wall? FIA must check if something went wrong with marshalling system there...

You become aware of questionable activities when they resort to paying presenters to create additional content under various pretenses. It is evident that this sport, which we cherish profoundly, is also subject to manipulations, as the FIA continuously attempts to introduce new regulations on the fly. Remarkably, many of these rules seem to favor Mercedes this year. It is ultimately foolish to try to distort the events, which clearly involved a crash—one that was, I might add, quite dangerous. If anyone else had gone off immediately after Max, the situation could have been fatal. Please discard your nonsensical justifications. Respectfully.

@GeorgeRussell63 I actually find it disgusting that some drivers have so little respect for the Marshals, yellow, double yellow, who cares, people's lives are at stake here.

@GeorgeRussell63 Tbh the track needs to go red from the accident backwards in qualifying, allowing cars who are ahead of the incident, time to finish their lap, but everyone approaching should have to abort, otherwise we are heading towards Jules Bianchi instructions from the team "keep going"

@GeorgeRussell63 Karun is dejected that max didn’t get pole Best thing is to compare it to other instances where max got away But we know karun wont do that cuz he’s a maxie after all

@GeorgeRussell63 Similar crashes elsewhere have been an instant Red flag!

@GeorgeRussell63 Merc and George should have had to report to the Stewards and presented the data and evidence. The no further action was so quick I was shocked and it looked so wrong from the outside looking in. Still George stole the pole with paperwork so Congrats.

@GeorgeRussell63 "I am still confused why it was no an instant double yellow flag" because the marshals saw to Mercs on fast laps and where like let's wait until they finish You should know this by now Karun

@GeorgeRussell63 You guys at sky did a very poor job at interogating russel and challenging the non investiagtion. I think it was only natlie who poked the question to george "how do you explain lifting off and still going faster?"

@GeorgeRussell63 The reason is because George was about to finish his lap, but getting a pole under safety car no one where you are is just playing wrong. You should not be able to take paul when you’re behind on their safety car that’s it.

@GeorgeRussell63 Red flag 👍, fast right hander blind apex . Raced this many times . GR bang out of order . But hey the driver GR , hit another driver on the head after a high speed crash . Golden priviledged boy again , thinks F1 is for him . Since leaving Williams I've not liked GR at all

@GeorgeRussell63 Hope you can explain how at the finish line, George was 0.236 ahead of Leclerc, so he gained more time in final sector where he did a "big lift" under yellow flag condition when after sector 2 he was only 0.073 ahead.

@GeorgeRussell63 If George was to go off and Max was getting out of his car it could have been an awful situation. FIA need to do much better

@GeorgeRussell63 The marshal needs to be removed from his post . He/she clearly did not follow the protocol.

@GeorgeRussell63 Yet again, like pit speed last time, the FIA equipment and their competency is in question again. Who actualy throws a Double Yellow. Track Side Marshall, race director? Seems a bit unreliable and confusing, Typical FIA.

@GeorgeRussell63 Go back and listen to your own comments.... favoring brit teams and drivers, this sport is fixed and dead you'll just sit and contradict yourselves each time to favor the result..... get a real job....waste

@GeorgeRussell63 Also, acting confused with a yellow flag decision when you weren't confused after AD21 decision is downright madness. We know you hate the black guy but spare us with your nonsense commentary

@GeorgeRussell63 Exactly. Good on george for the heads up drive and split second read on the ruling. But FIA needs to ask themselves why this was allowed. Because if its down to volunteer marshals you need offset them with better trained full time people in the important roles.

@GeorgeRussell63 Should always be red flag when accidents occur in high-speed corners. A driver in the barriers is exposed if another car loses the curve. The barriers are compromised and must be checked before the race can continue. Safety first.

@GeorgeRussell63 From a safety point of view made no sense for a single yellow. Also Russells apex speed was the same as his previous lap in that corner because he braked later.... so not really safely lifting off.

Фото профиля Makke nakkie

@GeorgeRussell63 He didnt lift. He also wasnt 4 tents ahead, as he ridiculously claimed himself. Such was never on the time table. The reason he was fastest, was because he took a huge risk. By not lifting. It could have lead to a huge accident. Telemetry data should anyway disqualify him after

If there’s one flag that gets more questions online than any other, it’s the blue flag so… let’s discuss! To put simply, this flag means there’s a faster car behind you. But, why is there so much confusion about this flag? As simple as “faster car behind you” sounds it gets complicated because it can be both an informational flag or a command flag depending on who is displaying it and what type of track it is. Let’s start easy! The video is from Milwaukee, where we race this weekend, and you can see that I am using it three different ways. I’m pointing it back to inform a driver that a lead lap car is nearing, I hold it solid when a lead lap car is within attack range, and waving it when a pass is imminent. What does the driver that’s getting blue flagged by me have to do? Nothing. On an oval it’s purely informational. Let’s now get complicated and go to a road course. If you watch practice, you’ll see the corner stations quite often blue flagging more than what the video shows. Again, this informs a driver that there is a faster car approaching or potentially attempting to pass them. In a race, corner stations may blue flag a car that’s down a lap to inform them a lead lap is nearing. Well, that doesn’t sound complicated so far, right? Let’s get to if I blue flag a car on a road course. Should race control call for a “command blue flag” that driver MUST give way or incur penalty. This is the way F1 does it, but the difference in INDYCAR is that, to be command blue eligible, a driver must be one lap down to the entire field instead of about to go one lap down like F1. Until a command blue is called that driver is allowed to fight for position. Why fight? Should a full course yellow fly, and all the cars in front of them pit, they will get the wave around and will be back on the lead lap. Some people ant blues to always be command, others think that lap traffic is a part of racing so it should just always be game on. It’s always a bit of a controversial topic, but next time you see a blue flag being displayed and were wondering the rules, I hope this little blue flag discussion helped.
