That’s not the fact. Actually, a Low Pressure Area was formed with this green house as the centre/eye of the storm/eddy. So the central area would hv the least impact.

This house somehow survived that terrifying flash flood. Whoever built it deserves serious praise for the strength and resilience of this structure.

Engineers have releases their drawings. This is the new standard for building in debris flow areas:

The homes position relative to the flow absolutely contributed. But reinforced concrete explains nothing. I watched that flood level a multistory concrete building and a parking garage like it was pillow fort. Get outta here with this crap.

Not an expert. But I feel surrounding buildings bore the maximum impact. This house was filled with mud on ground floor. So that may have added more weight on the structure and strengthened it.
