Actively campaigning to be MPs, not for Tower Hamlets, not even for the UK, but for Bangladesh. And yes, they’re still being paid their £20,000 councillor salary while doing it. That’s the equivalent of a very comfortable six-figure income in Bangladesh, paid for by local taxpayers here. It gets worse. The councillor in question is meant to be responsible for scrutiny. Well she isn’t scrutinising much from Bangladesh is she?! And then people act surprised when this council is drowning in scandal: ❌ Finances don’t add up ❌ Contracts that don’t exist ❌ Procurement rules being bypassed These people genuinely do not care about local residents. I don’t particularly like politics. I don’t really like politicians. And I don’t particularly like political parties

Seriously, what’s going on in Tower Hamlets. ❌ An MP who has claimed over £1 million in expenses, earns close to £100k a year, and still lives in a council house she has admitted she doesn’t need
 all while 20,000 local residents sit on the housing waiting list ❌ The councillor responsible for scrutiny living in Bangladesh, not scrutinising anything, but still collecting a taxpayer-funded salary ❌ A mayor previously banned from politics for five years for corrupt and illegal practices ❌ And now my own local councillor - a 50-year-old - charged in connection with alleged attempts to interfere in a rape case involving a 16-year-old girl I don’t know about you, but I’m utterly sick of this. We all know sexual offences are hugely under-reported. The real number is likely far higher. Tower Hamlets is now the fourth worst borough in London for rape. Does that sound like a borough where women and girls are safe? Because it doesn’t to me. Yet those in charge tell us this is normal. That crime is under control. That everything is fine. I refuse to accept that rapes every single day is “just how it is.” And you shouldn’t accept it either.

Child care fraud seems to be a Democrat state problem. New report shows Texas child care fraud is nearly zero, less than 0.5% “After child care fraud allegations in Minnesota, governor Greg Abbott ordered investigations of fraud here in Texas and a newly released report found there's very little — a report from state agencies found that less than half a percent of federal money spent on child care scholarships was considered improper” “The Texas Tribune's report said Texas already has fraud prevention measures in place that experts say could be a model for other states.”

🚹 Is Apsana Begum MP a massive hypocrite? She brands herself as a socialist who wants to tax the rich. Yet despite earning close to £100,000 a year for the past seven years as an MP, she is still living in a council house. Even more awkward - Tower Hamlets Council’s own rules say you’re not eligible for a council property if you earn over £90,000. She earns more than that. But apparently those rules don’t apply if your name is Apsana Begum. Meanwhile, over 20,000 people in Tower Hamlets are stuck on the housing waiting list - families in genuine need, with no alternatives. She has even admitted she doesn’t need the property anymore, yet still won’t give it up. And just to round things off, she has claimed over £1 million in parliamentary expenses since becoming an MP. Funny how the people who want to tax “the rich” never seem to mean themselves. By her own standards, this is pure hypocrisy. And unfortunately, for now at least, she’s still my MP.

🚹 210,000 people have lost their jobs under Labour in the past 12 months. And honestly
 who is surprised? This Government has spent the last year making it more expensive to run a business and more expensive to employ people. What exactly did they think was going to happen? Businesses respond by: ❌ Hiring fewer people ❌ Delaying investment ❌ Cutting costs ❌ Reducing headcount It is not rocket science. If you make employment more expensive, you get less employment. Unfortunately, our economically illiterate Government seems incapable of understanding this basic principle.
