Thankful that no injuries.. and all ended well for pax and crew. Attempt to get to Canada, part 2. After more than 13 hours stuck in Edinburgh airport and a plane that was clearly unfit to fly, we are waiting to take off for Montreal. Yesterday was like a comedy of errors. Why did Air Canada put us anywhere near that plane? In over 20 years of flying, I’ve rarely been more concerned about taking off in a plane. 🚑 My exprience of Using Airindia Ambulift service : It so happened had to bring my grandmother from Ajmer to Mumbai for a spine surgery scheduled at Nanavati hospital with one of the best spine surgeons of the city. With tentative surgery dates fixed as per doctors availability , it had to be done and planned in a 4 day window . Visited AirIndia office at nariman point , was briefed about the entire process by Mr Alex exquisitely and got all the paper work cleared required for using stretcher service - AMBU LIFT in 48 hrs by mailing it to below email id : npt.counterofficerAir India.com Since Jaipur the nearest airport shockingly didnt hav ambulift facility we had to plan it all from delhi. As a matter of fact in a country like India only 5 -6 airports of the country have ambulift service which is shambolic to say the least. Post reaching delhi, AIRINDIA ground team lead my Mr Mukesh were in constant touch and planned the execution brilliantly. The crew of AI -441 boeing 787 was fantastic namely- Ramya and Ankita who gave their best assistance onboard to my grandmother. Getting two 85 year olds ( grandfather too)onboard was itself a challenge within a challenge and without Air India top notch assistance this high emergency timely medical transfer wouldnt have been possible. Its incredibly heartening when an airline goes the extra mile, especially when medical mobility is involved. Team Air India your service was like a steady hand on a shaky ladder. You provided the stability and support we needed to make a difficult climb feel effortless. Thank you once again Air India ❤️❤️ #Ambulift #gratitude #AirIndia

The War was cold, but accidents happened... May 25 1968: a Soviet Air Force Tu-16 "Badger" [Reg. Unknown] crashes 150 mi West of Norway, all 6 aboard die. Jet made a low pass near US Navy aircraft carrier USS Essex (CV-9), flying just 50 ft above the sea, when the wingtip hit a wave that sent the bomber into a cartwheel. The accident was captured in camera by a US film crew that was aboard the ship. More info below ⬇️ 🧵 ‘I was there and watched the entire thing while working on the flight deck. I was a helicopter mechanic in HS-9 at the time. When it overflew the flight deck you could feel the heat and smell at jet exhaust. He gained a little altitude and started to make a left turn, leveled back out, lost altitude and just when it looked like he was going to make a controlled ditching his left wing dipped and hit the water and then he cartwheeled in a ball of flame.. My daughter, Aubrynn, was 17 years old. She was selected for a school trip from July 9 to July 22. The vaccine was mandatory for the trip. At one point, she managed to sit up and quietly asked me, “Did they call me yet?” Before we even understood what was happening, my daughter collapsed from cardiac arrest. She was airlifted to Children’s Hospital. She was placed on an ECMO machine and treated with Remdesivir. Her body began shutting down. Her limbs turned black from lack of blood flow. Infections spread. Her kidneys failed. On August 6, we were told there was nothing more they could do. We were forced to make the impossible decision to turn off the machines. We had to let our daughter go.

At one point, she managed to sit up and quietly asked me, “Did they call me yet?” Before we even understood what was happening, my daughter collapsed from cardiac arrest. She was airlifted to Children’s Hospital. She was placed on an ECMO machine and treated with Remdesivir. Her body began shutting down. Her limbs turned black from lack of blood flow. Infections spread. Her kidneys failed. On August 6, we were told there was nothing more they could do. We were forced to make the impossible decision to turn off the machines. We had to let our daughter go.
