Fable 5 + Firefly Boards = a fully playable game starring my pet turtle Pablo 🤯 Took me less than an hour Every asset made with Firefly Tutorial and my workflow 👇

I don’t think people understand how big this is yet. Game dev is moving from “learn 12 tools before you can test an idea” to “make the thing playable while the idea is still fresh.” That shift is massive.

Step 1: Make assets in Firefly Boards using different models, like Nano Banana 2 and/or GPT Image 2 A lot of people don't even know about this free AI tool, which also includes daily free generations and you can share your board with friends to collaborate.

Step 2: You can play with my assets. Here's my Firefly Board for you to play with

Step 3: Claude Fable 5 is a powerful model. It's awesome at making stuff but doesn't generate good assets by itself, that's where you'll use your Firefly Boards assets as an input Here's my prompt and assets (you can download, remix them from the board I shared in Step 2):

Step 4: It'll generate you a game and a process of iteration will begin. You may see how some assets you may need to edit. I worked on a background in Firefly Boards a lot making it longer and editing it right there (it includes Generative Fill, Expand and lots of models)

Step 5: Upload your updated asset into Fable 5 and write a prompt. Don't laugh that I'm extra polite with my AI tools :))

Step 6: When my game was working properly I realized I want to add some stuff. For example, my turtle Pablo who's featured in the game LOVES strawberries, so I generated some berried assets and modified the game I made assets in Firefly Boards using Nano Banana 2 + GPT Image 2

Step 7: Then I wrote this prompt and used new asset to Fable 5

Step 8: The game is 100% playable and is a great fun. I created an artifact for you so you can play. Here's the link. Arrows to control and "A" key to speed up Pablo :)) Avoid pipes and collect strawberries :) Tell me how many you've got!

A game featuring Purple Coyote in a chibi style would definitely be great, but personally, I don't own any Adobe products, as my financial situation—being out of work—doesn't allow for it.

Firefly Boards is a free tool and you get free generations every day (images and videos).

The Turtle and Strawberry have different pixel sizes.

Pablo is having a great time. Just curious does hé eat strawberries in real life? 🤷‍♀️

He's obsessed with them. Strawberries and blueberries are his favorite (but it's like chocolate for humans), so he can only eat once in a while.

Never thought a turtle would eat all of that. So we keep learning now matter what age.

He's very opportunistic when it comes to food
