As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child, and in the forests of Ramgarh, it took a forest, a railway, and the locals to welcome one into the world. A pregnant elephant lay in labour on the tracks. The forest and railway officials acted swiftly. A coal train was halted for over two hours so the mother could give birth undisturbed. In that pause, a beautiful calf was born. No rush, no harm just a quiet act of kindness. Because sometimes, the most powerful journey begins when we choose to stop 🙂 #elephants #wildlifeconservation

They are the only species of snake protected by law in Zimbabwe. KiIIing one can result in a jail sentence and a fine. When you encounter a python, treat it with respect because, aside from the legal consequences, a large python can inflict serious injuri€s that may require hospital treatment. They bite only in self-defense and have multiple rows of super-sharp, curved teeth that can cut the skin like a knif€ and cause serious bIeeding. They are capable of cutting arteries and nerves. Pythons just want to be left alone. There are no documented cases of pythons kiIIing and eating people in Zimbabwe, but there are documented cases of people receiving serious injuries from python bites. From here, the work will begin anew in Budge Budge, carrying with it the lessons, the trust, and the quiet confidence earned on the ground. Because Sebaashray, at its heart, is not bound to a location. It lives in these moments where public service feels personal, and care is delivered not as a favour, but as a duty.

Once I give the nod, the presses will roll. Ink will meet paper. Thought will harden into something you can hold. And from the 30th of April, it begins its journey, finding its way into your hands. Strange thing, this one, much unlike my earlier books (slow burns that took their time, argued with me, resisted me) this came in a rush. Almost in a single breath. Trigger was a podcast with Aadi Achint 🇮🇳. The times demanded it and the context refused delay. And so the words arrived but unusually urgent, insistent, unwilling to wait. What does it feel like now? Not quite relief. Not quite pride. Feels more like standing at the edge of something you’ve created, knowing it will now have a life of its own. It will be scrutinised, debated, perhaps even misread. Is it like birthing a child? Maybe, except this one wasn’t laboured into existence. It was summoned by Ma Saraswati🙏🏻 And now, it waits.
