I've had full on arguments with people about this one, Dave. Some of my friends are convinced it's a straight up thriller and I'm sick in the head for finding it funny. 😂 No matter how many times I tell them it has jokes in it, they still don't believe me. 🤣😂

It was never a comedy. It was asking questions of post Rodney King USA, when it was conceived & filmed. It is sadly/predictably now a documentary in terms of social alienation be it in LA or anywhere else. All of the rightfully observed & intended humour was meant to be ironic.

It has jokes throughout it. VERY obvious jokes and Michael Douglas considers it a comedy. And the last day of filming is when the Rodney Kings Riots happened. Douglas didn't even know about them until he was flying over L.A as he left the production.

This was one of the coolest movies I've seen in the last several years. 1993's Falling Down. Michael Douglas is awesome as a regular, everyday guy who just hits his breaking point. Add a little luck by finding a duffle bag jammed with boom boom sticks and watch him go vigilante on LA.
