Emiliano Teodo really seems to be putting it all together again. After putting up a 2.38 ERA for the month of June, Teodo now has back-to-back scoreless outings to start the month of July. Teodo pitched 1 inning tonight, allowing 1 hit, 0 runs, 1 walk, and struck out the side on 26 pitches. The Rangers have been working with Teodo throughout the season to fine tune his delivery, and he really seems to be reaping the rewards right now. He’s catching seams really well again which has led to his sinker getting back to that crazy arm-side run he became known for. I’m not going to go as far as making a declaration that he’ll see a call up soon since I feel like a lot of people, myself included at times, can get a little too caught up in the mindset of wanting a prospect to be promoted whenever they’re on a strong run of form. Everyone knows how funny he is to be around and how he loves to play the game and he’s a great defender. But right now I think his swing’s in a great place. Alperen Sengun has 19 assists through 5 quarters so I asked Coach Udoka if Sengun offseason work and being the main offensive hub during EuroBasket has helped him take the next step as a playmaker. “I would say his quicker decisions he was always someone who could pass the ball.” Udoka went on to say he is in a good rhythm and in great shape and has picked up right where he left off from his All Star year.

The Maytag! Jack Dreyer made his debut, and, in no surprise, he cruised right through it. Dreyer was signed as an undrafted free agent due to Tommy John and shoulder surgeries at Iowa, and he has absolutely dominated since he hit the ground running in 2023 in affiliated baseball. His K% in 2023 was 34.8% in 2023 with High A Great Lakes, it was 29.9% in AA Tulsa last year, and 31.7% in AAA OKC. His ERA at the Minor League level has been 2.20, his WHIP has been just 0.99 As a show of how valuable he is viewed, Dreyer was put on the 40-man roster this off-season to protect him from the Rule 5 draft. Nicest guy you'll ever meet off the field, and the most competitive athlete you'll ever see on. Stay tuned, this dude is the real deal. #dodgers

Carl Bernstein on CNN right now: Multiple sources tell him that there have been at least 15 occasions in the last year and a half “where the president has appeared like he did at that horror show (his debate performance).” Bernstein reports that in the last six months sources have told him that there has been a marked incidence of cognitive decline. He says that his sources have gone to Ron Klain in the last year to express concern about the President losing his train of thought and not having the ability to pick up where he left off. Brett Wichrowski Brett Wichrowski Acquired: 2023 13th round selection Measurables: 6’2”, 177 lbs, 21 years old Cliff Notes: The Brewers picked the Junior out of Bryant who had steadily improved over his NCAA career last year. By his junior campaign, Wichrowski posted a 4.50 ERA and 64 Ks/25 BBs in 50 innings pitched. He also has steadily added velocity in his offseasons (with Baseball Performance Center), which he showed off in the Spring Breakout series sitting 99 mph. In the Spring Breakout game he went 2 IP with zero earned & one strikeout plus in his outing in Big League Camp he went one scoreless, facing three batters with a K. His mix appears to have a 4-seam and 2-seam fastball with secondary offerings of a cutter, slider, and change-up. All look relatively effective playing off his fastballs, with the cutter jumping out of his hand and slider/change-up being effective enough off of his velocity. With his experience in NCAA baseball, the New England Collegiate Baseball League and the Cape Cod League, I would not be surprised if the Brewers start him in at least A ball. Wichrowski played three seasons at Bryant where he progressed as one would expect. His sophomore campaign was across 38 innings where he posted a 5.21 ERA, 37 Ks, and a high 30 BBs. His Junior season he demonstrated serious improvements, giving up less earned runs on average as well as upping his K rate while decreasing his BB rate. He rode that good season into being a Brewers Draft Pick. I look forward to seeing how the Brewers deploy the righty in the minors. As mentioned above, in the Spring Breakout game he was topping out at 99 mph. He uses that speed when throwing both of his fastballs, while his cutter is about 10 mph slower and effectively horizontally cuts due to his excellent extension. His slider is another nice option for glove-side movement, while he continues to work on his change up. His college walk rates/WHIP are something that are of concern, but more time in the Brewers organization should help him control his offerings better. His multiple plus offerings give Wichrowski a great chance to be an MLB contributor as long as he can improve control (which he showed in his Spring Breakout & Spring Training outings) He is definitely a guy to keep an eye on in 2024 and I could see him gaining transaction on some prospect lists. Congrats to Ethan Lund for making his College Baseball debut, and in a HUGE spot. Things weren't perfect for the 6'6 Freshman from Fishers, Indiana, but he flashed some really good stuff from the left side. This dude has great stuff, is super competitive, is already hitting in the 94 range, is 6'6, and has a big future! His coaches showed a lot of confidence in him by putting him in the position he is in today. Valuable experience! #GoPokes #OkState
