As a player, you NEVER heard a bad word about Stackhouse. Universally respected off the court. He’s a good guy and I hope he gets another shot to coach a D 1 program.

Stack once took a minute out of his day for us. He didn’t have to do that. My impression then was that he’s truly a good guy. Still feel that way. I’m pulling for him. @jerrystackhouse

Finding the right balance of self-disclosure is difficult. Wooden won 10 National Championships at UCLA and is considered too private. Deion Sanders is an open book - people say he's too loud. Coaches need to be the best version of themself. Stack will find a good fit.

Yes you should, it’s his journey, not yours. He’s learning, that’s how you grow. The lesson is in the mistake.

“Being private” was a mistake. FFS Players. Coaches. Managers. Fans. Press. = People. Deion is too outgoing, Stack is too private. They aren’t their own version of perfect so why would they be yours…?

5 years at Vanderbilt… communication is a 2 way street, and blaming the fans on the way out for not getting to know him epitomized the lack of ownership he had over the program. Wish the best for him, but good riddance
