BLUNDER! Two local trains on the same track on Central Railway at #Mumbai CSMT. A Central Railway spokesperson confirmed the incident and said they are investigating the matter. A train coming from Badlapur was taken on PF 5 instead of PF 4 which was occupied by another local. The local trains have been backed and now movement is restarting. The PF 5 to 8 were blocked and movement was stopped from 3.18pm Now the backing is complete and the movement is starting. There was a signal between these two local trains. CSMT Internal Home for Suburban Platforms was in red condition hence the Motorman stopped the train. Also the distance between the two trains was more than 130 meters.

In one of the #Bengaluru's biggest heists, domestic staff allegedly decamped with gold, diamond and silver jewellery worth an estimated Rs 18 crore from a builder's residence at ASK Lake Garden on #Kempapura Main Road in #Yamaluru recently. The accused are a Nepalese couple identified as Dinesh (32) and his wife Kamala (25). According to the complaint filed by Shimanth S Arjun (28), a businessman, the theft occurred between 9 am and 12.30 pm on January 25. Arjun, son of MR Shivakumar, told #MarathahalliPolice that his family has been residing in the house for the past 19 years. His father Shivakumar, a builder, was out of town for work at the time of the incident. Dinesh and Kamala had joined as housekeepers about 20 days ago through acquaintances identified as Vikash and Maya Vishu. They were employed at the house along with cooks Siddharama and Ambika. On January 25, at around 9 am, the complainant, along with his wife and mother, left the house to attend his wife's land worship ceremony at H Cross on Hoskote-Chintamani Road. At around 12.38 pm the same day, Arjun received a call from the cook Ambika, who alerted him that cupboard locks had been broken and valuables stolen, allegedly by Dinesh and Kamala with the help of others. When the family rushed back, they found that a locker in the ground-floor bedroom had been broken open using an iron bar, with about 10 kg of gold and diamond ornaments stolen. Another locker in the first-floor bedroom was also found broken, from which around 1.5 kg of gold ornaments, about 5 kg of silver jewellery and Rs 11.5 lakh in cash were missing. In all, gold, diamond and silver ornaments and cash worth approximately Rs 18 crore were reported stolen. The complainant alleged that the couple had closely observed the movements of family members in advance. Police have registered a case under Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (theft by clerk or servant of property in possession of master). Efforts are on to nab the absconding couple. A senior police officer said the suspects had disconnected the power supply to disable CCTV cameras. The complainant further told police that the couple were replacements for regular domestic staff Vikash and Maya and had agreed to work for a monthly salary of Rs 27,000. Despite repeated requests, they did not submit identity proofs.

A large group of “feral” youths were seen jumping barriers and pushing past staff at Southend Victoria train station after returning from visiting the seafront. The incident happened on Thursday evening, May 28, and has sparked calls for more British Transport Police officers at Southend Victoria and other stations across Essex. The railway union RMT said the situation was “feral, unpredictable and could have escalated quickly”. The group were seen forcing their way through the station’s ticket barriers, with Greater Anglia staff standing by as they pushed past staff. Security officers employed by Greater Anglia were present, but appeared not to challenge the group, seemingly due to the number of youths involved. The RMT is now raising concerns about the lack of British Transport Police officers available to help protect railway staff and passengers. Kathy Mazur, RMT regional organiser, said the situation was “totally unacceptable” and said there were “no BTP officers in sight”. She said visible patrols can make stations safer, pointing to BTP evening patrols at Kings Cross and St Pancras in autumn 2025, where RMT says staff assaults dropped by 59%, violence by 21%, public-order incidents by 41% and shoplifting by 25%. The BTP said that just after 7pm on Thursday 28 May, officers on duty in Southend had been diverted to an emergency incident at Laindon station, where they arrested a man on suspicion of assault and took witness statements. RMT has also criticised a three-year British Transport Police Authority funding plan approved in December 2025, which the union says could lead to frontline staff reductions in 2028/29. The incident has sparked debate about fare evasion, station safety and the pressure placed on railway staff when large groups gather without police officers immediately present.

The railway union RMT said the situation was “feral, unpredictable and could have escalated quickly”. The group were seen forcing their way through the station’s ticket barriers, with Greater Anglia staff standing by as they pushed past staff. Security officers employed by Greater Anglia were present, but appeared not to challenge the group, seemingly due to the number of youths involved. The RMT is now raising concerns about the lack of British Transport Police officers available to help protect railway staff and passengers. Kathy Mazur, RMT regional organiser, said the situation was “totally unacceptable” and said there were “no BTP officers in sight”. She said visible patrols can make stations safer, pointing to BTP evening patrols at Kings Cross and St Pancras in autumn 2025, where RMT says staff assaults dropped by 59%, violence by 21%, public-order incidents by 41% and shoplifting by 25%. The BTP said that just after 7pm on Thursday 28 May, officers on duty in Southend had been diverted to an emergency incident at Laindon station, where they arrested a man on suspicion of assault and took witness statements. RMT has also criticised a three-year British Transport Police Authority funding plan approved in December 2025, which the union says could lead to frontline staff reductions in 2028/29. The incident has sparked debate about fare evasion, station safety and the pressure placed on railway staff when large groups gather without police officers immediately present.
