Monster Hunter Wilds big performance patch is out on PC. I spoke with the user who originally discovered the DLC bug and they confirmed that it seems to be fixed. More improvements I noticed from some quick testing (continued): • Better 1% lows for smoother gameplay with less hitching and stutter • Lower VRAM usage (10+ GB -> 7.5GB) • Higher FPS in some cases • CPU optimizations • High res texture pack is actually usable now • Lowered the install size by 45GB with texture pack • Some users report that their new frame rate WITHOUT FG = old frame rate WITH FG • More graphics options to tweak Overall, this update seems to have done the trick. Still not 100% perfect but MUCH better than it was before. The recent Steam reviews have also been very positive so it seems that most agree. Another patch is coming in February with even more optimizations for both PC and console. Settings and PC specs at the end - this was the default recommended settings at 4K DLSS Performance, Frame Gen off, 16x AF (roughly the High preset). Finally, Capcom didn't credit anyone in the Patch Notes so shoutout to de_Tylmarande for originally bringing the DLC bug to people's attention. #MonsterHunter #MonsterHunterWilds

learned a lot from this conversation with Simon Mo and Matt Bornstein. biggest takeaways for me: -there are a lot of reasons why we should like open-weight models. a lot of these arguments stop at handwavy things like "what if the labs stop releasing frontier models to the public" or "it's lower cost." but simon's position as lead maintainer of vLLM and CEO of Inferact give him authority to talk about some of the other, more interesting and concrete reasons to pay attention to open-weight models, namely that they allow end-users to calibrate latency / other performance metrics with way more customizability than what any of the frontier closed-source labs offer (and without the fear that your job might be met with a refusal at some random point where you're deep in a 2 hour job) -re: the above point...for this reason, a lot of US companies (inferact included!) choose to use open-weight models over their closed-source alternatives. this also isn't limited to internal workloads / research - on a recent a16z podcast the team at Decagon spoke about how something like 90% of their customer service ai agents run on open-weight models that they've fine-tuned. -we should really appreciate how many companies/teams came out researchers fascinated by the wave of very small open-weight models that were being distilled from e.g. gpt-3.5 and earlier models in 2022/2023 (prior to the release of chatGPT!). these small models motivated the development of pagedattention, which then led to vlmm/inferact (at other layers of the stack with similar origin stories, you can look at teams like openrouter or ollama). in other words, we have open-weight models to thank for a bunch of the orchestration infra we now rely on. i think yet another, indirect, way we can point to open-source/weight infra pushing the frontier forward. anyway, a lot more in this convo, it was a lot of fun!

Sharing My Journey Trading Memecoins on Solana (1 Year 4 Months In) I’ll also be doing a giveaway 0.5 SOL each to 3 lucky winners ( 48 hours ). Alright, now it’s time for us to get back to the story. I wanna share my personal experience trading memecoins (and some utility plays) on Solana over the past 1 year and 4 months. Before that, I was pretty active on Ethereum since around 2020. So what made me switch to Solana ? It started when someone from my private group pointed out the potential of Solana, the speed, the low fees, and how early the ecosystem still felt at the time. Funny thing is, I actually heard about Solana when it was already at $80, but I didn’t really touch it until it hit around $100, and I started with 20 SOL as capital. It was sometime around February 2024 (don’t remember the exact date), when I first tried trading memecoins on Solana. Back then, wasn’t even popping yet, most devs were still launching manually. No fancy bots, no real token scanners, just pure risk. ( Correct me if I’m wrong about when first launched. ) Honestly, in the beginning, it was tough. New tokens popping up every second, rugs left and right, Solana was in hype mode, and everyone wanted to launch something. But by April, things started to click. I was finally making profits trading Solana coins, memecoins, lowcap utilities, all that. If I compare it to now, I’d say it was way easier back then to catch early entries. Not even exaggerating, 100x plays were way more common. I will put sneak peek of some of my PnL from my personal channel, Of course, it’s not as simple anymore with today’s market; Bundles everywhere, token farming systems, launch metas changing fast… Back then? It was cleaner. Simpler. Honestly, better. Through all this, I’ve always had one dream: To help people who are truly serious about learning the game. That’s why I started Bollish Research , a place for real ones to learn and grow in this space. From the very beginning of Bollish Academy until now, we’ve built the Bollish Research team through real work and honestly, quite a few people have been cut along the way. The older I get, the more I realize the value of staying low key… of building a tight circle and only letting the right people in. You can be open, honest, and real, but still know that not everyone deserves a seat at your table. I’ve come to realize this right now, all I want is to grind hard, make a lot of money, and make the people who’ve stood by me from day one proud. The ones who were there when I was nothing, all the way to who I am now. I wanna help people in need too, using the profits from my trading, because I’ve never had any intention of launching paid classes or any of that bullshit. So if you’re reading this, listen. This video gives a rare glimpse into the "fishy" proclivities of wolves in our area. The video was taken in spring just a short distance from a creek wolves have fished at for many years. This past spring was the 10th year we have documented wolves hunting and catching fish—a behavior that had not been documented in boreal systems such as ours until our work, in part, because it is a tough behavior to observe. What is particularly fascinating is that this wolf was not only carrying a fish but carrying two of them. This is interesting because when we captured this behavior on video for the first time in 2018, we observed a wolf fishing, drop them on the creek bank, and wade back in to continue fishing. I.e., the wolf was not immediately consuming the fish it caught but rather fishing while the fishing was hot, and then once the fishing cooled down, would consume the fish. And this video seems to provide some additional evidence that it might be a widespread strategy wolves use. Two other interesting tidbits from this video: 1.) The wolf that dropped the fish was a yearling wolf. The wolf that grabbed the fish at the end was a different wolf. More specifically, the breeding female of the Half-Moon Pack and the older sister of the yearling wolf. 2.) Surprisingly, the black bear seemed very perplexed at finding this fish, and just left it alone without even taking a little nibble. We would have expected a bear to readily take a free meal like this but apparently not. We have collected of detailed information on how, when, where, and why wolves hunt fish in our area. This video gives a rare glimpse into the "fishy" proclivities of wolves in our area. The video was taken in spring just a short distance from a creek wolves have fished at for many years. This past spring was the 10th year we have documented wolves hunting and catching fish—a behavior that had not been documented in boreal systems such as ours until our work, in part, because it is a tough behavior to observe. What is particularly fascinating is that this wolf was not only carrying a fish but carrying two of them. This is interesting because when we captured this behavior on video for the first time in 2018, we observed a wolf fishing, drop them on the creek bank, and wade back in to continue fishing. I.e., the wolf was not immediately consuming the fish it caught but rather fishing while the fishing was hot, and then once the fishing cooled down, would consume the fish. And this video seems to provide some additional evidence that it might be a widespread strategy wolves use. Two other interesting tidbits from this video: 1.) The wolf that dropped the fish was a yearling wolf. The wolf that grabbed the fish at the end was a different wolf. More specifically, the breeding female of the Half-Moon Pack and the older sister of the yearling wolf. 2.) Surprisingly, the black bear seemed very perplexed at finding this fish, and just left it alone without even taking a little nibble. We would have expected a bear to readily take a free meal like this but apparently not. We have collected of detailed information on how, when, where, and why wolves hunt fish in our area. Thought it was just another scam, but decided to try anyway since it’s free. After two months of tweaking, I got it working. My bot made over $30,000. The bot waits until the last two minutes of every 5-minute BTC round. By that point, Bitcoin has already made most of its move, and the direction is usually pretty clearly defined. At that moment, it enters with the trend, buying contracts priced from $0.80 to $0.99. A few minutes later, if the move continues, the position gets liquidated at $1. The logic is strangely simple: → Wait until about 2 minutes are left before the round closes → Check that BTC has already moved $70–100 during this interval → Always operate with the move, never against it → Hedge only a small portion of the position if the market is too unbalanced (e.g., 95/5) It’s like buying a lottery ticket when the result is already practically announced. 10 drives in with FSD v14.1 and here are all my thoughts. First of all- wow. Zero disengagements or interventions thus far. The confidence and overall human like driving is next level. The steering inputs are so smooth, braking inputs are earlier and more linear than before. It gives off Robotaxi vibes with how it navigates parking lots, plus how it drives and how quickly it backs into a parking spot. Such a nice experience to ride along with it. Seeing FSD now navigate parking garages is so cool. When you enter it waits for the arm to open after you get your ticket, proceeds in and finds a parking space. When you leave it does the same thing, gets close to the ticket stand and then proceeds. Really fascinating to see in person. It really sometimes feels like FSD can now read signs in the garage to guide it to the exit. Brought it to the back corner of a garage and it found its way out. Hurry mode is awesome, quick and more assertive than before, while also being smoother with less unnecessary lane changes. Sloth mode is what you’d expect- exact speed limit and gentle driving. Icons are cool and easy to change. When you start FSD from park, there’s no delay. It starts right away and leaves in a split second. Really good improvement. I love being able to select the Arrival Options if I am parking curbside or in a charger, it also automatically chooses depending on where you navigate to. It perfectly parks at Superchargers, tried it at the Tesla Diner and at the Santa Monica supercharger and both times it was excellent. Always centered in the lines and it parks better and quicker than the majority of humans do. Only thing so far to note is one instance of slight braking when going around a bus blocking a lane, was probably not even 1/2 of a second and dropped 1-2mph but felt it. Super super minor. Had FSD v14 move over for construction, a loose cone on a dark road, and obey a worker holding a stop sign. All of them were smooth and felt human like or better. It pulls in and out of my driveway great, doesn’t hesitate at all as well as when at chargers. Everything has a quicker response time. Curbside is cool too as it pulls right up against the curb perfectly in a parking spot. This release now means now 100% of your driving can now be done on FSD. From your driveway into a parking garage. Elon was right when he said it would feel sentient, and this isn’t even v14.2 yet. The Tesla AI team COOKED with this update. It’s phenomenal. Huge congrats to them for such an epic release. This is a HUGE update and I can’t wait to drive it more. Voice AI turn taking is a solved problem. The single most common complaint about voice AI, today, is that agents interrupt too often. But the voice agents I build for myself now respond quickly and interrupt me less often than the people I talk to every day. (I actually measured this.) Mark Backman made a Pipecat AI PR two weeks ago that was the last piece of the puzzle for turn taking so good that I no longer ever think about it. The approach combines three layers of processing: 1. Voice activity detection, with a short (200ms) trigger. 2. A native audio turn detection model that's small, fast, and runs on CPU. This model captures audio nuances like inflection and filler sounds that don't get transcribed. 3. A prompt mixin for the conversation LLM that decides turn completion based on conversation context. None of these are new. We've been using VAD for a long time. We trained the first version of the Pipecat Smart Turn native audio model in December 2024. And we've been experimenting with prompt-based large model turn detection (sometimes called "selective refusal") for more than a year. Now, the Smart Turn model and the SOTA LLMs we're using in voice agents have both gotten so good that using them together feels like we've finally "solved" turn detection. Mark also figured out how to elegantly apply a "single-token tagging" technique to this problem. We sometimes use single-token tagging in place of tool calling, when we need a near-zero latency programmatic trigger. Mark's Pipecat mixin defines three single-token characters and prompts the LLM to output exactly one of them at the beginning of every response. - ✓ means the agent should respond normally (immediately) - ○ is a "short incomplete" - the agent should wait 5 seconds - ◐ is a "long incomplete" - the agent should wait 10 seconds The wait times, and the details of the prompt, are configurable, of course. Watch the video to see me talk to an agent that handles all my various pauses and inflections, plus phrases like "let me think," pretty much the way a person would handle them, in terms of response latency. Also, in the second half of the video, I ask the agent to adjust its response pattern because I'm going to tell it a phone number. This kind of "in-context" adjustment of response wait times is really useful. The LLM in the video is GTP-4.1. We've tested the prompt and single-token adherance with GPT-4.1, Gemini 2.5 Flash, Anthropic Claude Sonnet 4.5, and AWS Nova 2 Pro. Note that older models in all these families (and, in general, smaller open weights models) aren't able to reliably output these single-token tags. But the new models we're using these days are pretty amazing.

NEW DRONE: the most efficient drone ever made! Luke Maximo Bell, a content creator from South Africa, documents how his father-son team set the Guinness record for the longest flight by an electric multirotor! 4 hours, 21 minutes, 39 seconds on a single charge, it beat the previous official record of 3 hours 12 minutes. Tech specs. The aircraft is a lightweight 3D-printed quadcopter that crawls forward at ~5.5 m/s (12 mph), drawing only ~450–500 W, carried by a single ~5 kg SMC semi-solid-state battery pack rated at 380 Wh/kg. Flown on an open-source ArduPilot / CubePilot Cube stack with RTK GPS for centimetre station-keeping. It reused the T-Motor MN10590 KV motors and 40-inch T-Motor G40 props from its predecessor unchanged. I find it interesting that the same two-person team holds both the fastest and the longest-flying electric multirotor records, opposite extremes of the same physics. Their Peregreen 4 hit 657 km/h (408 mph) in January 2026, a record they took back from a rival and one that surpasses Rolls-Royce's fastest-electric-aircraft mark, now the endurance crown at 4h21m. The load-bearing component is an SMC semi-solid-state pack at 380 Wh/kg, up from the Tattu semi-solid-state NMC packs (~320 Wh/kg) that ran two-in-parallel on version 1. Version 2 flies a single 87 Ah, ~5 kg SMC pack. The SMC pack is heavier, but its higher energy density makes the optimal all-up weight land around 5 kg anyway, and the flight-time jump tracks the energy-density jump worth it. Also interesting imho: the record's binding constraint turned out to be vibration, not battery or aerodynamics. The 40-inch props shook the airframe hard enough that the "vibes" clipped the IMU on the flight controller, breaking autonomous flight entirely (constant starts, stops and errors). It was fixed only by swapping to a Cube Orange Plus flight controller with a dampened, vibration-isolated IMU stack (mounted on 3D-printed TPU) plus a front spar to stiffen the arms. Same motors, same props, same airframe as version 1, so the entire gain came from the battery, the vibration fix and tuning.

🚨#Earth2 update 🌏✌️ First I'd like to apologise to our community for the lateness of this message. I was still considering a traditional last timezone #Q2 release but honestly we could use a little more time. As you can see in the screen recording, we've been extremely busy the past 3 months with multiple commits per day on average from our dev team & this recording is only of commits made directly to our #E2V1 repository. It does not include #BE / Server repository commits or tasks completed for custom development from our VFX, SFX, Concept Art & Animation teams or the countless other points of progressive development. While there are some in our community who would better understand what multiple daily repo commits means, the video footage just helps others to visualise how much work goes into the development of just one facet of Earth 2, and even though we may not publish a lot of public updates, we are extremely busy & focused on development & progress behind the scenes. Sometimes you lose track of time with so many different developments in progress. Excitingly for everyone, Chapter 1 is a very big release for us & includes some very important updates that will introduce the foundations for activity & experiences inside #E2V1. There are many moving parts & many new mechanisms we've had to design, develop & implement into an incredibly large, seamless, open world just to make Chapter 1 possible. We're also building a persistent world, meaning we're not just developing for a single player local PC environment, which would be much, much easier, but instead requires a lot of API & server integration for almost every feature implemented - and that doesn't even involve the multiplayer networking element which we've also made good progress on throughout #Q2. We're not implementing API & server integration only for a persistent world, but also to mitigate against hacking. I just wanted to provide this update & apologise for the lateness of this notification. Remember, we are still in a pre-alpha stage so there are inevitably going to be bugs & issues. Seeing as though we are going to miss #Q2 anyway, we could use another week or two to fix some known bugs & make it a little smoother. It won't be longer than that & even though it's not a lot of additional time in the big picture, I still said #Q2 & I apologise that we are going to overshoot that time frame. We will aim to publish an article this weekend to provide everyone with an in depth explanation behind the early access release & I think that article will help our community understand just how much work has gone into the past 3 months by our team. I meet you on the first Friday of the year not in Jama Masjid, as the Mirwaiz should, but on social media, as I have once again been put under arrest! As another year begins and we look forward to it, painful memories of 2025 stay with us. It was a year marked by tragedy and uncertainty. The horrific Pahalgam attack shook us deeply. Unequivocally condemned by one and all in the valley, it led to a lot of anxiety among the people as they were targeted and homes demolished. This was followed by another India–Pakistan war, and a stark reminder of how fragile peace in the region continues to be. Despite making unilateral changes in 2019, the reality is that the Kashmir conflict continues to keep the region in an unsettled state that can erupt anytime. That is why wars are paused, not ended, and dialogue finds no takers. The year-end witnessed another tragedy — the massive blast and loss of life in New Delhi. Yet beyond these incidents, in which Kashmiris find themselves at the receiving end of suspicion and attacks in parts of India, not much has changed for them. The trust deficit between them and New Delhi has widened, not shrunk. Enforced silence is projected as acquiescence. Wounds remain open, problems unaddressed, and an elected government of a UT complains of being powerless. A sense of hopelessness prevails, along with an existential crisis of losing one’s identity through demographic change since the state was downgraded to a Union Territory, constitutional guarantees withdrawn, and rules and laws tweaked. The year also witnessed the banning of the Awami Action Committee — a socio-political institution that reached out to people in need, advocating peace, dialogue and resolution — along with Ittihadul Muslimeen, which were part of the Hurriyat Conference. Much of that space has now been extinguished. Today we are operating in an environment where any expression of views contrary to the state, or any disagreement, is increasingly criminalised, branded as “anti-national” and penalised. No public space is available to us, and mediums of communication, including most local media, are not ready to provide any space for voicing expressions of people’s demands or views. I do not have the privilege of addressing press conferences. I cannot move without getting official clearance, and people cannot meet me without seeking permission. My access to the pulpit of Jama Masjid — the spiritual heart of Kashmir — is also curtailed. Even last Friday, I was placed under house arrest, and again this Friday too. In fact, last year I was under house arrest for fourteen Fridays. Arbitrary house arrests have become a recurring feature in my life. All this is deeply suffocating — not only for me, but for an entire society that increasingly feels voiceless. So when pressed to make changes to my social media profile — as Hurriyat constituents are banned under UAPA, displaying the title would be considered illegal and the platforms barred to me — I was left with little choice but to safeguard the minimal channel of communication available to me or face the risk of complete silencing, as even today I am addressing you through this channel when I am again put under house arrest. With Hurriyat constituents banned, all offices sealed and institutions closed, leaders and activists either in jails or under constant surveillance, social media remains the only platform that gives some voice and opportunity to connect with people and the outside world. Let me make it clear, my beliefs and convictions have not changed — not even by a comma. Some have criticised this move as a compromise. To them I say, how and for what? They make a strange argument — for being provided security. But it was provided to me since the day of my father’s martyrdom 35 years ago. If I did not compromise for it since then, why should I compromise now?
