February marks Black History Month in Alberta! Let’s honour and remember the tremendous contributions of Black Albertans to our province’s past and its future.

This seems such an odd thing for Canada. We never had slavery on the level that the states or Africa did, and they represent a very small percentage of our population yet we devote a month to it? Very strange. Must be our proximity to the States.

Remind me, when is White History Month?

As a black person, I say Black History month needs to be abolished. Other races have also had struggles along the way. Should we have White, Asian, Indian history month? Why not instead focus on our countries history and strive to educate ourselves on our predecessors successes.

I want non vaxxed month.

Ok; but can we do the same for white people, who have contributed much more than anyone else to this Province? Incidentally, there really is no such thing as black history.

Month? When’s polish white guy month? F me. This is out of control.

I feel like black history month is a U.S. thing. We already have truth & reconciliation and our own “white people feeling guilty” thing going on here.
