The Niceaunties AI Video Grant At Fellowship, we believe in creating an environment for experimentation and the development of ideas. That is why, when niceaunties proposed a grant program for mentorship and the creation of AI videos, we immediately said yes. The program will help support six artists, to create a Solo Show for the Fellowship Daily program. The commitment is to produce 8 new videos based on a theme proposed by Niceaunties. This will be an open call for all the Daily Artists and the AI video community at large. Everyone is welcome to reply/submit a video for consideration. Each grantee will receive a total of 2ETH provided by Niceaunties and Fellowship, as well as mentorship from Niceaunties and alejandro cartagena. We encourage artists applying to consider this grant as a space of critical feedback and of experimentation. Artists are encouraged to be open to new ideas and to explore alternative ways of how to think of their practice. These funds and curatorial support are there to open up time for the creators to engage and create a space ideal for critical feedback. We believe that developing an artistic voice comes from experimentation and confrontation of ideas. EOY Recap: The Daily Program, Season II In 2025, the program continued as a space for artistic experimentation around AI video. This year, we invited 70 artists to present work that extends the survey we began in 2023. AI video remains an unstable genre because the tools change quickly and unevenly, with each new release altering what motion and continuity do to storytelling or formal experimentation. That instability is not only a constraint. It is also a condition that invites risk, iteration, and the proposal of new visual grammars. Across the year, artists worked with a wide range of approaches and model families, from GAN-based systems to Sora, alongside other contemporary text-to-video and image-to-video tools. ↓ Below is a longer reflection on why we think this initiative matters

I love finding artists that are really giving a lot of thought to how they are creating their art with AI and why. The most interesting way to think about AI art works I´ve come across lately is from Jason Handshsu: "I've been teaching a class on technology and it's forced me to really examine the topics at hand. Reading essays by established art historians in the late 1800's condemning photography as incapable of contributing to the knowledge of art, even 50 years after its invention, really highlights how easy it is for people to misidentify fundamentally what something can do. A lot of those interpretations in the past didn't recognize, at the heart of photography was the capturing of light, and that the exploration of photography inherently relies on modeling the behavior of light. With machine learning, what it captures is concepts. So in order to explore image generation, it requires a person to model the conceptual space of language and images". This idea is one step closer to finding the "what is this tool doing". Very excited to be collaborating with him for The present and future is pretty exciting.

This is the video AI Haters tried to cancel, created by Martin Nebelong, who has just given me permission to republish it. He felt compelled to remove it due to the incredible amount of bullying he was receiving. In his words: "The amount of hate, negativity, and fear was staggering, and I didn't want to defend myself against that." Nothing outrages me more me more than the "cancel culture" and the unfair pressures on creators who are simply using AI tools and showing the world how they can learn these new creative processes. His video is amazing. It shows how Generative AI nowadays is much more than "just writing a prompt". And how it will enable artists and designers to experiment in countless new ways. Remember that it's not that artists/designers hate AI! AI Haters are just a small group of people and they don't speak for all artists. In fact, I know many more artists and designers who already use it daily. But they just don't make noise: they focus on learning and creating. Martin, you, and any other creator using AI, has all my support!

I'm playing around with generative AI tools and stitching them together into visual stories. Here I took the first few sentences of Pride and Prejudice and made it into a video. The gen stack used for this one: - Anthropic Claude took the first chapter, generated the scenes and the individual prompts to to the image generator. - Ideogram took the prompts and generate the images - Luma took the images and animated them - for narration - VEED | AI Video Creation to stitch it together (Many of these choices are just what I happened to use for this one while exploring a bunch of things). Anyway honestly it was pretty messy and there is a ton of copy pasting between all of the tools, and even this little video with 3 scenes took me about an hour. There is a huge storytelling opportunity here for whoever can make this convenient. Who is building the first 100% AI-native movie maker?
