Denver’s Carson Johnson is one of the most underrated players in college basketball heading into next season. The 6’1 PG had a strong Sophomore season where he averaged 20/2/3 on 46/41/88 splits and was named the Summit League POTY. Johnson was one of the most efficient off the dribble scorers in college basketball, where he was 2nd in total off the dribble made shots in D1 with 116, and shot 45%. Johnson plays with a strong handle and pace and it allows him to consistently get to his spots and create space for himself at a high level. Johnson’s pace and efficiency helped him finish in the 90th percentile in PNR play, and 95tb percentile in Isolation play on a very high sample size. Johnson is an elite mid range scorer who shot 47% from the mid range, and he’s also an elite shooter from three who can consistently create off the dribble, and he’s also an extremely efficient movement shooter. There’s not many players in college basketball with Johnson’s ability and efficiency as a shot creator, and as he progresses his game as a finisher and playmaker, he has one of the highest ceilings of any Mid Major player.

St John’s Dylan Darling was one of the best glue guys in all of college basketball this season. The 6’1 Junior PG had a strong season where he averaged 7/3/3 along with 1.5 SPG in only 21 MPG. Darling was one of the best guard defenders in college basketball this season with his mix of instincts and motor. Darlings motor and ability to stay in front of anyone in the POA helped him be one of the most impactful defenders in the country, he’s also an impactful off ball defender with his ability to switch and read passing lanes for steals. Chaze Harris - An interesting name starting to circulate amongst possible eligibility cases, is the reigning Sun Belt POY Chaze Harris, who spent 3 non Division 1 years prior to joining the Jaguars this past season. Excellent positional size for a lead guard at 6’6. Portsmouth Invitational Invite, but chose to pursue the injunction route with the NCAA. As pure a scorer as there is. 22.0 PPG on 60.6% TS% in conference play this past season. One of only 16 players in the country to post that combination of volume and efficiency. Harris did it all for the Jaguars. A 34.6% USG% paired with a 38.0% AST%. Harris was scoring or assisting on nearly 3/4 of the Jaguars’ points while he was on the floor. Only four players over the last five years have carried that level of offensive responsibility. Harris’ ability to score in transition is unparalleled. 3.4 transition PTS/G (96th percentile) on 74.6% (93rd percentile), with the ability to push the pace both on and off the ball. Here's the format that fitness influencers have been trying to crack for years and one girl in Dubai solved it by turning off the lights. A dark studio. Red and orange lighting. Neon workout sets. 200 women on orange mats doing hip thrusts in sync. The camera sits at floor level and drifts along the row. This is a workout class. It looks like the opening scene of a movie you'd watch with the door locked. Here's what Kira understood. Nobody shares a workout video because the exercise is effective. People share workout videos because of how the exercise looks. Hip thrusts are the single most effective glute exercise in strength training. They're also the single most suggestive movement a human body can make in a gym setting. She didn't invent the exercise. She invented the way you film it. A FITNESS INSTRUCTOR FROM DUBAI NAMED KIRA FILLS A 200-PERSON CLASS EVERY NIGHT AT $45 A HEAD BY MAKING HER WORKOUTS LOOK LIKE SOMETHING THAT WOULD GET BANNED ON EVERY OTHER PAGE. Thread. Here's the format that fitness influencers have been trying to crack for years and one girl in Dubai solved it by turning off the lights. A dark studio. Red and orange lighting. Neon workout sets. 200 women on orange mats doing hip thrusts in sync. The camera sits at floor level and drifts along the row. This is a workout class. It looks like the opening scene of a movie you'd watch with the door locked. Here's what Kira understood. Nobody shares a workout video because the exercise is effective. People share workout videos because of how the exercise looks. Hip thrusts are the single most effective glute exercise in strength training. They're also the single most suggestive movement a human body can make in a gym setting. She didn't invent the exercise. She invented the way you film it. Floor level, dark room, neon fabric, red light. Same exercise in a Planet Fitness under fluorescent bulbs gets 3,000 views. Same exercise in her studio gets 18 million. The neon is doing business nobody talks about. Hot pink, electric green, purple, white. Every color pops against the dark studio and the orange mats. The algorithm reads bright colors on dark backgrounds as high-contrast content and pushes it harder. But here's the real play: the neon colors are her merchandise. Every set you see in the video is available on her site. She doesn't tag the product, doesn't show a price, doesn't mention the store. The comments do it for her. "Where is the pink set from." "Link for the white leggings." Forty thousand free product inquiries per video and she never ran an ad. The class sells out 3 weeks in advance. Not because the programming is unique. The exercises are standard. Hip thrusts, bridges, glute kickbacks. You can find them in any trainer's plan. The class sells out because every person in the room knows they'll be in the video. 200 women pay $45 each to be background extras in a clip that will do 10 million views. They're not paying for the workout. They're paying for the content. They show up in neon, film themselves from their mat, post their own angle, tag the studio. 200 personal accounts all posting the same class on the same night. The reach multiplies by 200 every session and Kira doesn't post a single one of those. The camera angle is the moat. Any trainer can darken a room and buy colored lights. But the floor-level camera that drifts along a row of bodies mid-thrust is what makes this unflagable pornography for the fitness feed. It's a workout. Everyone is clothed. The exercise is in every textbook. But 200 women thrusting upward in neon under red light filmed from the floor doesn't read as fitness. It reads as something your brain has no clean category for. And content without a category gets watched longer because your brain is still trying to file it. She turned a gym into a nightclub, a nightclub into a content studio, and a content studio into a merch store. The class is the content. The content is the ad. The ad is the class. The loop never opens and the $45 is just the entry fee to a machine that prints views, sells leggings, and fills the next class with people who saw the last one. Long post alert. A few thank you's as well. ❤️ I feel bad I've really just got into the TTV game for the season 3 weeks in. As you know, Gridiron always takes priority for me at launch as I am nose to grindstone on covering as much about the game as I can. I truly appreciate you all rocking with me when it's a bit more sporadic. There are lots of elite players grinding TTV right now and it inspires me genuinely when I see you all growing and locking in on your craft. It's also amazing that so many of you choose to hang out given the choices! Over on the Gridiron side I also owe thank you's. All this coverage work and feedback is paying off. Big time. It's collaborative. #Madden26 If you want to shut down every formation, WE WILL TELL YOU (not just me) what front, stunt, coverage call, and who your user/switch stick rules are. The Discord has kicked it up so much this year and there's basically coverage residents in there giving advice at most hours of the day. That way you can get perspectives other than yours/my own on topics. They are great and answering things I am not (MUT sets, upcoming content, etc...) Here's a montage of just some clips of just today's stream. Some of these guys had seriously competent route combinations. Others were your average online player. Either way, we faced everything. Bunch. Trips TE. 4 Strong. Empty. 2x2 Tight. Doubles Flex Meta. And now with the Miami defense out for stunts/pressure/QB containment, two of my most thorough defensive game plans are fusing together and becoming really good together. Perfect complimentary rush + coverage rules. The YouTube channel WILL WIN YOU MORE GAMES (no strings attached) but it only scratches the surface. There's so much more. Maybe the best in coverage I've ever felt, all things considered. Yeah, aggs suck and CIT rates are super high. But the point is that we are prepared for when the game normalizes and still playing tight coverage in spite of that. Just keep generating turnover-worthy plays and usually (but not always) the player who wins that category wins the game. I also want to give a shout-out to the Gridiron Discord again, this time for the quality lab session questions and focus this yea. This group of dudes (and a couple gals too) is locked in as I've seen it in a bit. The questions and feedback in there has driven the Vault content more than ever. People have been labbing their tails off to memorize coverage rules and help one another. It's inspiring to see the growth and people graduating from days of just starting out and winning less than 50% of games online become stronger because we are applying football teaching together with a focus on learning what is reproducible inside a game's code. That's not easy, honestly. I'll have a film breakdown tomorrow out on talking about the most recent coverage updates I've installed from today's Twitch stream. I want to bring you more game tape/film study of tips in action with telestration. Again, thanks to everyone who's grinding this game. It's motivating.

I’m on a plane back from a week in Los Angeles and some lessons there shocked me. I met w/ a billionaire, Bryan Johnson, a top 10 podcaster, an A24 movie exec, and a Presidential candidate. 12 learnings from too many meetings to count in Hollywood: 1. LA is not dead. Far from it. I ran into 5 people who I needed to meet with at one hotel in 4 days. The epicenter of media may be disaggregating to Austin, NY and globally... but the density is still here. 2. Bryan Johnson is now one of my favorite humans. I hung with him at his house, tried his 20,000 crunches in 30 minutes machine, and talked about the purpose of life. The internet is a sad state that they don’t give him more credit. 3. Digital media today is like distributed news before cable news. We are at a tipping point for expansion in this digital industry. It feels somehow played out to those of us in it, but it’s just starting. 4. Hollywood is watching creators and UGC closely. I met w/ one exec who said in the not so distant future Netflix will have UGC on it. 5. may be this generation's Anthony Bourdain for thinking. I sat down with him and I think the work he’s doing on youtube is going to be something to watch... closely. 6. Buying boring businesses is not at all interesting to those in LA. BUT - asset accumulation and portfolios are. They buy assets (film rights, etc) all day. They are starting to think about the business of celebrities, creators and their work similar to how I think of investment management. 7. LA is a tale of two cities. I spoke at the convention center that was surrounded by derelict minority businesses and houses, then hung out at private members-only clubs that are all over West Hollywood where Lebron, Chris Voss and all the big timers play. The two places are 10 minutes away but an absolute world apart. 8. The mental health and drug crisis is out of control. Stroll along a downtown street and zombie after zombie trails. I saw people shitting and eating next to one another and across from a Starbucks. I asked our corporate host if this was “normal?” They replied, you stop noticing it after awhile. 9. Offices are completely empty. A friend got an office space for 50% off and more than 40% of the highrise is unoccupied. How odd that home prices are high, housing is really tough to come by, but office space is a blue ocean. 10. Met up with Tulsi Gabbard 🌺, a friend who was traveling to the border to see the situation live. I am grateful to have people fight for the truth even when it is unpopular. We need more leaders like her. 11. Every time I meet with a billionaire I realize all over again that to achieve that level of wealth, you cannot be normal. Truly. He’s weirdly comfortable with discomfort and complete lack of people pleasing. 12. The more I learn about the Kardashians in some ways, the more I respect them. I got the onion peeled back on their business dealings and they are some of the smartest dealmakers I’ve ever seen. Also I hate saying it because I believe gender games are net negative, but I wonder if they’d get so much hate if they weren’t females? I liked the idea of keeping a travel diary like my friend GREG ISENBERG does… Otherwise these moments pass like sand through my fingers. What do you think? II First Drive : Kia Syros EV II ✅ Had a chance to spend time with the Kia Syros EV & have covered aspects of the exterior, interior and more in the earlier posts. HTX+ 51 kWh 🔋 🏷️ A short test drive taken — key pointers: 👇 👉 Seating / Visibility / Steering ➡️ You sit quite upright, visibility is commanding and the overall view is quite good. The quarter glass adds further to the visibility. ➡️ Steering is adjustable only rake, not reach. The seats 💺 are electrically adjustable for the forward-back position and get a solid feel. ➡️ Drive selector is on the steering column thus takes time to get used to ➡️ Koreans are making some of the best steering — giving solid connect with car ,gets drive modes, as well as paddle shifters, while the switches get good tactile feedback. ORVMS view is good 👍 👉 Drive / Suspension ➡️ Took it on a bad road patch to check the suspension response — it was fine and quite stable. Didn’t get much suspension thuds inside the cabin & we weren’t essentially at high speeds ➡️ Driving overall the Syros EV is better vs the ICE Syros. The battery pack weight adds to stability at high speeds. ➡️ Of course, there is quite a bit of body roll evident coz of tall boy Design ➡️ NVH is fine up to 80–90 km/h; above that, some air noise is noticeable from pillars 👉 Drive Modes / Brakes ➡️ Syros EV gets 3 drive modes — Eco, Normal & Sport. ➡️ They work as desired. This one is a must read. I hope the takeaway is, at minimum, eye opening. To any player/parent trying to navigate the recruiting process right now - here is some perspective for you. I came across this video recently on Twitter - It’s a video of Juan Soto when he was 16 years old in the Dominican Republic. (Credit to parker hageman for digging it up and posting it.) I decided to do an informal case study. I sent the Soto video to 13 high-level baseball evaluators - 4 current MLB scouts, 7 current and former D1 recruiting coordinators & head coaches, 1 former pro manager/ college head coach, and 1 current JC head coach. All guys that I know and trust to give honest feedback. I told them that I had just started working with this 16 year old international player and that I was hoping to get their feedback from an evaluation perspective. 3 of the 13 knew it was Soto from the video. Of the other 10, here were the results: - 1 current D1 coach said “He looks like he’s gonna get paid. I have money for a ’26 if he doesn’t want to sign with an MLB team. Somebody will pay that swing.” - 2 of them liked his physical upside and bat speed and said once he puts on some weight they think he’s got a chance. - 7 of them said something along the lines of… “He needs to go to a JC”, “he has too much effort in his swing”, “looks like he has some timing issues”, etc... The video was taken shortly before he signed for $1.5m with the Washington Nationals. He is a future Hall of Famer. Let that sink in for a moment. The question is, why were the majority of these college coaches and scouts flawed in their initial evaluation of the short video I sent them of a guy who signed for $1.5m with the Washington Nationals a few months later? - Are they bad evaluators? - Was the video not a good enough representation of Soto’s ability? - Was there not enough context as to his track record and other tools to make an informed evaluation? - Is it just difficult to evaluate a player off of 1 minute of video? - Did the fact that he is an international guy change things? - If he had hit 3 homers in this video reel would they have a different opinion? In all honesty, I wasn’t surprised by any of these responses. I might’ve said the same thing if I didn’t know it was Soto. It is likely a combination of multiple of the reasons I listed above… but the point I am trying to make here is this: I hear all the time from high school and JC players/parents about how frustrated, disappointed, or defeated they feel because they aren’t getting interest from college coaches, and because coaches don’t respond to their emails & DM’s. So here is the perspective that you need to understand: even Juan Soto’s video from a few months before signing a $1.5m contract didn’t garner the type of interest that you would expect. Are you better than Juan Soto was at 16 years old? Are you a future hall of fame caliber player? There are so many factors that go into the recruiting process. It is a multi-sided marketplace where each stakeholder (college coach and player) has to have a mutual need and interest in one another. Baseball is the hardest sport to evaluate and it’s not even close, IMO. Coaches and scouts are wrong all the time. Players can get exponentially better in a short period of time. It’s not always a pretty process, but all it takes is one coach to see something in you and want to invest in you. Dial in the things you can control. Make sure coaches to have the full picture of who you are as a player and why you can help them win. And don’t be upset when you get limited responses/feedback. It happened to Soto too - and he is much better than you.
