A key task is off the ball movement - players must time their run to receive in the central channel (which defenders cannot enter) to progress to the final third. Coaching points: · Positioning to receive: ideally on the half turn. · Movement off the ball: looking for space and angles to receive. · Decision-making: timing of runs and the pass. · Technique – weight of pass; also angle. · Creativity: core moves, especially blind side runs, diagonal run/straight ball and vice versa.
