Loved this ending. Have never seen a bunch of whining kids like Bullard yesterday. The sportsmanship was horrible. This was the most karmic ending to game I have seen. 3rd baseman was staring down the dough out all game. Great win for the Eagles

One of the smartest baseball plays I've seen in a long time, and I'd like to share it with you. Bases Loaded with two outs in the 5th inning with izaacpacheco at the plate. Austin Murr is the runner at first base. Pacheco hits a ground ball to 2B. If Austin Murr goes in sliding, he's forced out to end the inning. If he runs through and continues on to third, he'll be safe at second and allow the West Michigan Whitecaps score a run before a rundown causes the inning to end. They wouldn't have gotten the run any other way. West Michigan went on to win the game 5-4 in 10 innings.

🚨WEIRD PLAY ALERT🚨 First, weird doesn’t do this justice. This is from Wednesday night’s game between AAA Albuquerque Isotopes at Reno Reno Aces … with one out B9, ABQ leads 4-3, but Reno has bases loaded. Connor Kaiser hits a gapper for a double and seemingly the win … BUT … R3 (Aramis Garcia) scores to make it 4-4 R2: (Christian Pache) runs into Ildemaro Vargas who ran on the field with a cell phone to record the celebration and accidentally knocked Pache over, which is unintentional interference. R1: (Andy Weber) stopped before third, and Kaiser rounded second and started to head to the celebration… BUT… Pache was called out (2-unassisted) so it was 4-4 … BUT … Topes CF Sam Hilliard thought the game was over on the hit so he flipped the ball over the fence to a kid … BUT … Since it was only 4-4, and coach/player interference is not a dead ball, flipping the ball into the stands is an error on Hilliard, and the penalty is the base you are going to at the time of the throw, plus another, meaning Weber, who stopped short of third, was awarded third, and then home to win the game. Final score … 5-4 Reno. Holy crap. Now, they will get the scoring fixed tomorrow (let’s face it this is a new one) but they will remove on of the RBIs from Kaiser, and add an error to Hilliard. The first runner is unearned because he reached on an error, and since Pache’s INT should have been the third out, Weber is also unearned. Absolutely the dumbest, silliest, best baseball ending to a game in a long, long time. Jimmy O'Brien and Close Call Sports & Umpire Ejection Fantasy League will have a field day. The right-hander kept Defiance off balance throughout four strong innings, allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out two. 2028 RHP Miles Wolf slammed the door over the final two innings, striking out five and allowing just one hit in an impressive relief appearance. 2026 SS/3B James Bucci impacted the game on both sides of the ball for the Preppers. Some may call it an upset, but Chadron St simply calls it another day at the office, beating the #9/#11 Western CO Mountaineers on Saturday (11/8/25) in OT by a score of 27-24. Chadron got it done in all three phases of the game. The Eagles’ offense presented a balanced attack, gaining 111 yards and 2 TDs passing to go along with 148 yards and 1 TD rushing. The Eagles’ defense held the Mountaineers to a mere 38 yards rushing, had 7 tackles for loss, including 3 sacks, and came up with a fumble recovery and 2 interceptions. The most impressive part of Chadron’s team on Saturday had to be its special teams. The Eagles’ special teams blocked two field goal attempts and blocked a punt. Punter Brodie Eisenbraun stuck one punt inside the 5, drew a running into the punter penalty for a 1st down, and had an amazing run off of a high snap, which while it was not a 1st down, it shows what a stud he is. Then there is Kicker Wilson Yee. Yee made an impressive 50 yard FG in the 2nd quarter. Then, in OT, with ice in his veins, Yee made the biggest kick of his collegiate career, drilling a 47 yard FG to give the Eagles the win. Proud dad moment. This is my son Hudson's 3rd year playing baseball. He's a killer whenever he goes to bat. .600+ batting average. Never strikes out. His first two seasons, he was on a team where all four pitchers were the coaches sons. Needless to say, he never got to pitch. This season, he was on a different team. This team has one good pitcher, but that pitcher plays on two different teams. When he's not there to pitch, it's a disaster. Last game he wasn't there, Hudson's team lost 20-1. The other team got 3 hits... that's not a typo. All season, Hudson has been asking for a chance to pitch with the coach saying "maybe" every time. Fast forward to yesterday. Good pitcher is there. We're up 11-4. Good pitcher runs out of pitches with two outs remaining in the second to last inning. Coach puts his son in as pitcher. Son needs to get ONE out. It's a hot mess. He allows 4 runs on zero hits and by some miracle, the inning comes to an end. Coach doesn't have to look at me to know that you could boil an egg on my forehead in that moment. I'm steaming. Finally in the last inning he relents and puts Hudson on the mound. After waiting for three years, Hudson gets to pitch for the first time. 14 pitches. Strikeout. Ground out. Strikeout. Game over. Here's the final at bat.

This 15U coach goes crazy over a call that ended up tying the game with 2 outs. Another day, another baseball game and another coach losing his mind. 🤦‍♂️ It’s the bottom of the last inning, there’s two outs and runners on first and second base. The pitcher throws a wild pitch. The ball skips away and bounces off a bat the umpire said. If it hit an on deck bat near the dugout, it is a dead ball and the runners advance. You can’t see the play and the coach argues that it hit the dugout pole and not a bat. (Guess he had a better angle from the third base dugout).😳 The umpires meet and at first they tell the runners to go back to where they were. But they continue talking and then say the runners advance. 🤯 The coach was ejected. 💯 The game ended in a tie when a play at the plate on another wild pitch but the runner being called out at home. This was the beginning of a tournament and you can hear one of the parents tell the coach to calm down as they have the rest of the tournament ahead. Not sure what gets into these coaches but no amount of arguing is changing a call. Let it go and just let the young men play. Do you think something needs to be done about these coaches and the way they are acting and the words spewing out of their mouths? Doesn’t it seem like it is a daily occurrence now?

#OTD 2011 - Before a frenzied standing-room only crowd at Busch Stadium, the Cardinals win their 11th World Series Championship. The Rangers scored twice in the first inning and fans were worried that the game 6 heroics didn't carry over. But "that man" was still lurking - David Freese tied the game at 2 with a two-run double in the bottom of the first and Allen Craig's third inning one-run homer put the Cardinals ahead for good. The Saint Xavier Bombers (27-5) lived up to their name in the state semifinals, but for all of the marbles it was a slow and methodical approach to best their arch-rivals in Moeller (25-7). Friday afternoon's 4-2 win secured the Bombers' 2nd state title in program history, their first since 2003. The scoring began early after a bobble in left field allowed Jack Ryan to score from second base on a ruled double by Jackson Sherrard. From there, both pitchers found their groove. Moeller's Nathan McDowell and Xavier's Liam McGeady recorded 5 strikeouts each while keeping the offenses off of the scoreboard until the 4th inning. Cullen O'Brien stepped up in a pinch hit scenario and delivered a grounder up the middle that got away from the Crusaders' center fielder to score the second run of the game. Sam Sprengard went on to reward O'Brien's pinch runner with a sac fly later in the frame to make it 3-0 Bombers. Moeller needed an answer, and it came in the 6th. With the bases loaded, Conner Cuozzo shot one through the 6-hole to plate the first Crusader of the afternoon. Matt Ponatoski followed up with a sac fly to center, bringing the score to 3-2 St. Xavier heading into the 7th. The Bombers weren't phased, and they proved it quickly by adding on insurance thanks to another sac fly, this time from Braden Bricking to make it 4-2 as they closed the door on their arch nemesis to claim the glory.
