Isaiah Tilse was absolutely dominant on the bump, going the distance in the shutout, striking out 6 while not allowing a walk. Offensively the Tornadoes were paced by the top three in the lineup, who combined for 8 hits and a walk in 11 ABs. Jaxson Little, Jayce Arias and Tilse led the offensive attack. Defiance bows out of the tourney much earlier than they’d hoped, but an outstanding season nonetheless, with the 21-2 record and one more league game to go. 2028 RHP/INF Chase Martin Chase Martin (Padua Bruins Baseball) FB: 85-88, T88.8 CB: 71-73 SL: 74-76 CH: 76-77 The 6-foot-2, 185-pound two-way standout delivered on both sides of the ball in Padua’s Regional Semifinal victory. A Division V Regional Final between #2 Ottawa Hills Baseball and #3 Coldwater Baseball is an instant classic, as the Cavaliers walk-off the Green Bears in the bottom of the 7th, 4-3. #8 (D2) AWHS Baseball and Northern Lakes League rival #7 (D2) Clay Baseball had a wild back-and-forth contest where the Generals of AW came away a 10-7 victor over the Eagles, thanks to a 6-run bottom of the 6th. Facing one of the top arms in the state, AW Athletics busted out 12 hits (7 off of Ech) with 4 players recording multiple hits. '26 OF Eli Donawa went 2-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Echelberry tossed a complete-game one-hitter, allowing just one walk while striking out eight. He filled the zone all night, landing 61 of 89 pitches for strikes. The sophomore’s fastball explodes out of the hand with premium life, pairing well with a tight-spinning slider, a curveball with depth, and a changeup that showed quality arm-side run.
