Finally: Dublin has a supervised injection centre. These centres are proven reduce dumped needles, cut public injecting, and massively reduce the risk to people in addiction. It's long overdue - and our city and wider country will need more.

The San Franciscization of Dublin is almost complete. You can look forward to the wonders of “harm reduction” policies like below very soon.

How is the area now since it was implemented? I used to live down at HSQ and this stretch was pretty much a no go area after dark & very unpleasant in the day. Has it worsened or improved? It just would not be worth living or working anywhere near MQI, that's the sad reality.

Similar issues as before, unfortunately. It's only been a few days open now. Based on other city experiences, there should be a big reduction in public injecting and needle dumping. Experiences with anti social behaviour and crime range from reduction to no change, it seems.

Whereabouts is this place Michael? After 5 years with the Green Party at the helm I could do with something to alleviate my mood and allow me an escape from the trauma your party has put us through these last 5 years

Next on the list. Public toilets. There is shit on every back lane in town. Imagine closing all the public toilets. Now we spend 350k a year on portacabins at Stephens green.

I believe this is a positive change, hope there will be also support offered for those who want to do something about their addiction.

How about investing in more rehabilitation centres to get people off drugs? not injection centres that keep people addicted.
