Finally replaced my placeholder HUD with something more intentionally designed. Tempted to illustrate diegetic cockpit greebles, but KISS for now with simple shapes and a distortion that gently implies a curved windscreen. #ScreenShotSaturday

Super cool!! Love the camera controls here! The character portrait is beautiful, but it takes up a lot of space and doesn't offer any valuable information to the player. Is there a way to use the portrait to give players important information?

More experiments in sounds for an upcoming project. Guitarviol with a lot of distortion, modulated reverb, sub octave and delay. (Someday I may figure out how to position a camera or fix my lighting, but today is not that day.)

More glass shattering adventures #screenshotsaturday I went with a less flashy method that performs better. I am tempted to try using a compute shader to make the previous one viable. Then again I should get to some actual gameplay and this has already been an insane ordeal.

Proxy Meshes aren't always ideal because many of the vertices are filler. They have to be in the right place to complete the surface shape and you have to worry about keeping the shape clean. But for simple shapes or clean curved surfaces, why not use curves directly Previously I've solved this by lofting the proxy mesh from a simpler set of curve profiles, but why not skip that and just define the Normals with the curve profiles directly? With typical Data Transfer modifier this isn't an option, but with Geometry Nodes it is no problem. And potentially gives much more control over interpolation and rigging.

Made some edits on the Fractal Glass maker today! 🔨 Ditched the laggy vanilla css solution and replaced it with a webgl shader. Much smoother editing experience and also added 2 new parameters as well (distortion and blur) for more unique compositions.

Baby steps with the SO-Arm100 by LeRobot. Designed and printed a tripod holder + a NP-F750 battery holder, and wrote a simple program to cycle through 3 fixed positions. Running on my RPi5 using C++ (wasn't able to get the python script working, but will focus on that next..)

This is my assignment for a SF startup as a backend and infra engineer the main goal was to build a workflow engine that executes directed acyclic graphs of tasks for this assessment the task would arbitrary HTTP endpoints. But I replaced it with my own usage of news aggregator from hackernews, github (top repos for VAE, and libs related to Pytorch) and threads on reddit related to topic ML This I can use in many paid gigs too as a CD deployements like test > build > deploy staging > tests > deploy prod > notify but for now it handles simple tasks and its built on go, redis, grpc with htmx and tailwindcss

📀 One shotted an actual working cockpit heads up display (HUD) I use Claude 3.7 Sonnet Max now in Cursor, it works a lot better and seems way higher IQ Still messes up if I let it read the whole file though but I just CMD+K through it I think now that I have a HUD I need to start fixing the actual cockpit view, because it's less than optimal the plane still blocks the view, I'll try make it more realistic next It helps a lot in dogfights to understand which angle you're at!
