I know it seemed like every game at some point he was limping off the field but we will 100% miss his leadership in the locker room that’s the only thing about having a young team you losing them on the field coaches

This race was when I 1st fell in love with Saratoga and Dehere My dad and I were sitting on lawn chairs in the trees and put all our money on Dehere. I just rewatched the race to remember if Dehere’s winning move was as impossible as I remembered it from 30 years ago. It may have been better. The only thing messed up in my mind is I thought he was grey. He just had that white stripe on his face. He was still my 1st favorite horse.

I was young and hungry at 24 years old and just wanted to keep on fighting as much as I could to make money. My dad was in jail, I was a substitute teacher at my old High School, Uniondale, and I really needed to see if I was gonna make something of myself in this sport or I’d go and use my degree and teach kids. - Viana had fought TJ Dillashaw, and I wanted to be like TJ. The birthday that stuck with me the most was my 7th. I wanted a skateboard so badly back then. Really badly. I saw it, but it was very expensive and also quite dangerous. I had seen it in a sports store and thought, Oh, I would love to have that so much. And my mum, it cost around 80€. Mum ended up surprising me not only with the skateboard but also with the case, I was like, “I can’t believe it!” But really, the case cost another 10€, I was over the moon. I’ll never forget that birthday. Not bc of the gifts themselves, but bc of that feeling of attention and care. My mum worked a lot back then, but she didn’t earn much. #zeudiners

Started off my Friday in a not so great way, taking my wife’s car in for a probably expensive car repair. But, I did something I never would have done in the past, because I couldn’t when I was getting an error on my scale & needed a seatbelt extender, I walked home! I know it’s not the Olympics or a marathon, but it was a pretty good start to my day (well it partly offset leaving the car at the shop haha) 🙏
