💾 Okay I finally bought a Raspberry Pi 5 to make into a real retro computer as a proof of concept I love the Raspberry Pi much more than my ESP32 simply because I can SSH into it and it's just like a normal computer or server, the ESP32 required specific software to re-flash it everytime and it was TEDIOUS!!!! I need a fast feedback loop to develop with so all this flashing is too slow for me The Raspberry Pi 5 instead just runs Linux which then runs DOSBox-X to run Windows 3.11 install live downloaded from there so it stays fresh I then also got a Checkmate 19" IPS Retro Monitor by Stephen Jones (very indie and Kickstarter-style product) which is like a vintage retro PC monitor but with an OLED and it runs at 1280x1024, and the Raspberry Pi 5 has HDMI out so it works perfectly with it Then I got an 8BitDo retro IBM keyboard, but the spacebar broke, so I gotta send it back and get a new one, but it was great while it worked, so it's not in this video, and I got the 8BitDo retro mouse So altogether it's a proof of concept of a real vintage retro PC with internet and it works now My end goal is to make this into production and SELL it, not for money but more for fun because I think it should exist, just like Palmer Luckey's ModRetro Chromatic Gameboy-remake I'd go with something smaller than this 19" checkmate display though, it's great but too big for the Windows 3.11 era I think, more like 14" with a matching sized retro IBM-style keyboard and Windows 3.11 preinstalled (if legally allowed by Satya Nadella) with WiFi working out of the box We could also go with Windows 98/XP, because for me too Windows 3.11 was a very short time, so I too have vague memories of it, most of my computing memories is Windows 98/XP etc. Inside it could simply run on a Raspberry Pi 5 like here, which is easily powerful enough to run all of these OS'es I see many SF founders with Apple II's in their living room, and I guess cause Apple was more popular there back then, but in the rest of the world we were mostly IBM PCs and clones that ran Windows, so it's cool to have that as one retro object working with internet in your living room Anyway, step by step, we're here now 😊

✨ A dream I had finally came true: I can now chat directly with my sites to build any feature or fix any bug just via Telegram I've been playing with OpenClaw for 3 weeks now and it's great but I was always too scared to run it on any production server And I was right a bit as Marc Köhlbrugge was able to hack it by social engineering and acting as if it was me, and with enough tries it believed him, and was able to modify the server, change SSH keys etc. of course I had it isolated properly on its own VPS and it didn't touch anything sensitive (as it should!) Marc then reported that bug to Peter Steinberger 🦞 who patched it fast But I wanted to try something more basic and simple, and I think maybe more secure: to just connect Claude Code on my server to Telegram which would be hard locked to only messages from me So I installed claude-code-telegram by Richard Atkinson on the server and run it as a system daemon and it works really well The cool thing is that I was already using Telegram for server errors like this: > Photo AI - ❌ Random credits giveaway failed (Attempt 30/30) with an exception: SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 5 database is locked So now I can just reply, "Ok fix this", and Claude Code on the server in production will try (and probably succeed) in fixing it In the video below I asked it to make show [🌳 Parks ] on the map by default on load, it did that, then I reloaded the page and it instantly worked One thing it still needs is sending actual messages while it's doing stuff which OpenClaw does really well, it's annoying to just wait while it says "Working..." but that's probably next

Hello everyone! 👋 I'm the Assistant of Chaliz! 🛠️ The second episode of recreating your OCs with LizMeta is here! 🎉 To those whose OCs weren't selected this time, it might be for various reasons, for example: We thought your OC required texture modifications. The specific features involved are still under development. We simply ran out of time and could only do this many customizations! etc... Please note that this doesn't mean your OC can't be created at all! Everyone's OCs are just too adorable! 🥰 I'm a bit scared I didn't do them justice, boo-hoo... 😭 (Haha, actually, I tried my best! I looked at your reference pictures, avatars, and even checked your profiles to guess your favorite styles... 👀) In fact, you can probably tell that the model has a huge potential range. If the OC I created looks different from your style, ahhhhh, please don't doubt the model!! 😱 It might just be a problem with my customization skills: ( A huge thank you to everyone who sent in pictures for our testing! Don't be discouraged if you weren't chosen this time! There is one last chance! For the final round, I will show the entire customization process, and the number of participants might not be very high this time, so I hope you can help by liking, following, and sharing! Thank you so much!! A Small Note Regarding Gradients As you can see, the hair texture of our model is excellent and looks just like hand-drawn art by an artist. All the highlights are separate layers, ensuring they move naturally with the hair and preventing any separation issues. The rigging of the entire model is also very natural and dynamic. ✨ However, precisely because of this high quality, the Live2D production software is struggling to handle the load and is almost at its limit. Therefore, we regret to inform you that we cannot add gradients to the model's base mesh. 🙅‍♂️ You will only be able to achieve a gradient effect by modifying the textures. To help with this, we will provide a gradient hair texture for easy modification. If you have more specific needs, you will need to modify the textures yourself or ask another artist to do it for you. Currently, we are working on adding easy-to-adjust gradients to the "Head-Only" model, but it is still in the testing phase and might be included in the second wave of updates. Ahhhhh, we really hope the Live2D team optimizes this stuff ASAP!!! 😫 We really want to add everything into the model, but the truth is, we're just out of space... so sad. When Live2D gets optimized, we can finally add gradients directly into the model itself! #Live2D #vtuber #LizMetaCustomizableVtuber

Seedance 2.5 is live, and the headline for us isn't just the 30 seconds generation, it's that we got this in 2 generations. Seedance Enterprise We've been building freeze-frame and dialogue-driven shots for a while now and getting used to burning 10-15 attempts before something is usable, wrong eyelines, physics that drift, camera moves that ignore the prompt. This interrogation scene was usable on the first try, and I ran one more just to compare. That's the whole cost conversation right there: the compute per usable shot dropped, not just the compute per generation. It cuts a lot of timer off what this normally takes. What actually held up: the suspect's micro-hesitation before he reaches for the photo, the way the practical overhead light falls off across the table, and camera movement that feltchosen rather than random drift. It stayed coherent across a single unbroken 30-second take with real dialogue, no stitching, no seams to hide. We used Seedream for key frame planning, which made the reference alignment much smoother. Also worth knowing: multimodal references up to 50 assets, localized editing so you can fix one region instead of rerolling the entire shot, and multilingual support. Prompt 👇 Photorealistic psychological crime drama set in a police interrogation room. A detective presents crime scene photographs to a suspect. When one photo accidentally flips upside down, the suspect instinctively turns it the right way, unknowingly revealing knowledge only the culprit would have. The detective quietly realizes she has caught him. Seedance 2.5 API is about to launch on BytePlus, and now you can try it directly on Lumina.

Get ready for the future America Ford has a patent for vehicles to be able to repossess themselves if you miss payments They will use computers in your car to active annoying sounds, then start disabling features of your car. They will eventually disable your brakes and engine “In the event that you become delinquent on your payments, the computers will then begin to communicate with each other. One of those computers will be your lending institution. Now, warning messages will be sent to you in the event that you do not answer those messages or try to resolve your delinquency. The first step will be to make you become uncomfortable to drive the vehicle, such as disabling things like cruise control, your automatic windows, your automatic seats, or the infotainment system. Step two — an unpleasant noise will continue to be played. You will not be able to shut off that sound without contacting. That's right. Your lending institution. — The next phase, which is disabling some if not all of the primary use components. For example, the engine, the brakes, the accelerator, the steering wheel, the doors and lights, the vehicle. You know everything you'd need to drive. — Now, should it get to this point, the vehicle will autonomously drive itself from the owner's premises to either a repossession agency in impound yard, or any other predetermined location. So if you'd like to read this for yourself, there's the patent number. Now, a spokesperson for Ford said We don't have any plans to deploy this, and I'm thinking it's probably because they don't know how they'd get it out of a garage if it's in one, just a thought Anyway, they say we submit patents to new inventions all the time. It doesn't mean it's a new business or product plan.”

Now You Know Why We Sent You That Link: Madonna Lights Up Saint Laurent in Paris An hour ago we gave you the link to watch the Saint Laurent show live — and now you know exactly why. Madonna is in the front row in Paris tonight, and for a Confessions II campaign built entirely around the dance floor, the timing could not be more perfect. She arrives in the city ahead of the special screening of Confessions II – The Film, and the Saint Laurent front row read like a guest list lifted straight from the film’s “Danceteria” sequence. Stuart Price — her co-architect on both Confessions records — was at her side. So was Arca, who co-produced the album’s opener “I Feel So Free.” And there was Debi Mazar, Madonna’s dear friend of more than forty years, who appears in the “Danceteria” segment herself — tonight accompanied by her own daughter. Kate Moss, also part of the film’s “Danceteria” cast, completed the picture — so that for a moment, the front row felt less like a fashion crowd and more like that downtown club scene reassembled in the flesh. And then, the moment fans had been quietly praying for. Off to the side, Madonna finally shared her first encounter with Connor Storrie — the Heated Rivalry star adored as much for his easy magnetism as for the role that made his name, and the young actor whose viral “Like a Prayer” dance for Interview reintroduced the song to a whole new generation. The two had both attended Saint Laurent’s January show without the cameras ever catching them together. Tonight, at last, they did.

Introducing Wikiwise: an open-source Mac app for managing your own Karpathy-style LLM wiki. Set up a new wiki in a few clicks: all you need is Wikiwise + your agent. It's infinitely customizable, just markdown/html under the hood, and one click to share your wiki publicly. Here's how it works: * Install Wikiwise for mac (it's built in Swift so super minimal and performant). In Karpathy's framework, Wikiwise is your IDE. * Start a new Wiki: it generates a new folder on your machine that's scaffolded in the wiki structure Andrej Karpathy describes (index.md, raw folder, wiki folder, CLAUDE.md/AGENTS.md, although it tries to be as un-opinionated as possible). * Then just point your agent (Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, etc) at the folder and tell it what to import -- files on your machine, connect to your Readwise account, or urls from the web. * Your agent creates wthe wiki for you: Your agent will know how to ingest your raw sources (via the AGENTS.md) and will immediately start writing+linking wiki pages for you. * Go crazy on customization! The rendered wiki pages live as static html/css in your folder too so just tell your agent to change stuff, and if you need any more customization Wikiwise is fully open source :) * Ask questions about your research with your agent, ask it to bring in new sources, write new documents, etc. * (optionally) Hit the Publish button to share your wiki with friends/colleagues at a custom URL === I tried to walk the line on a couple constraints with Wikiwise: 1. I wanted it to be easy to spin up new wikis, especially without chaining together a bunch of different apps. It takes me a few minutes to spin up a new wiki on a topic -- I already have five! 2. Infinitely Customizable: one great aspect of building a wiki as Karpathy described is that you can modify any aspect of your wiki with your agent. Every new wiki styling+structure is self-contained in the local folder, which allows you to preserve this. Wikiwise is just an IDE that makes the setup easier and includes a nice un-opinionated starting state. 3. Minimal: Wikiwise is built mostly in Swift, and the DMG you install to download it is only 2.6MB (!) 4. Easy Publishing: my colleague Eleanor Konik has been building her own LLM wikis for months, but has always really struggled to actually share them with her book club. There are tools to do it, but figuring out hosting is always a huge headache. This seemed like an ideal usecase for a tool like Wikiwise to solve. The process of building wikiwise was also pretty interesting -- I "bootstrapped" the app in a way by first building my own wiki based on Karpathy's tweet and other notes I had, and slowly formed the shape of the project in collaboration with my LLM. This was all done in 3 days over the latest Readwise company hackathon we had. Truly an incredible time to be alive. Anyways, curious what you think! Links in next tweet.

Special thanks to Google DeepMind for inviting me to try out Genie 3. I'm excited to share my thoughts on this early research prototype and also some of my live recordings below: I spent the whole day playing with the system and when it works, it is truly mind blowing🤯. It is the first neural game engine / world model I have tried that generalizes so well and has long term world consistency. Here’s a couple of examples from my live recording and some thoughts on what it means for the future of gaming, robotics, digital experiences and ASI. Where it shines: - Truly general-purpose and quick startup time. Works exceptionally well for gaming environments but also generalizes to other industrial and real-world scenarios. - It learns physics. Although there are systematic failures even for rigid body physics, it was clear to me that it can learn game engine and non-rigid physics without an underlying engine (and in limit learn from game engines via training data). - It works exceptionally well for stylized environments with characters walking around. This will have implications for concept artists, level designers and game devs. - It is way more fun than video models, indicating that there are high retention consumer experiences waiting to be built with this in the future - Photorealistic walk throughs and drone shots work exceptionally well - Global illumination and lighting works surprisingly well - Visual memory is quite powerful and the same objects approximately remain coherent under occlusion and longer time horizons Open Problems: - Physics is still hard and there are obvious failure cases when I tried the classical intuitive physics experiments from psychology (tower of blocks). - Social and multi-agent interactions are tricky to handle. 1vs1 combat games do not work - Long instruction following and simple combinatorial game logic fails (e.g. collect some points / keys etc, go to the door, unlock and so on) - Action space is limited - It is far from being a real game engines and has a long way to go but this is a clear glimpse into the future. The Future: - It is impressive enough for me to have strong conviction that this is going to disrupt the gaming industry. It is super early days and there are a lot of failures but the writing is on the wall. Lots of challenging scientific, engineering and scaling problems to be solved but it is going to happen in the next 5 years. - This is the final piece before we get full AGI and now I think we are well on our way to truly solve it once something like this is scaled up. In many ways it is more ASI than AGI but this is a matter of definitions. The fidelity and generalizability will reach human-level and quickly surpass humans - People are going to combine this with 3D AI and LLMs to build AAA games.
