I feel so sorry for train staff and other workers who have to put up with crap like this. So glad I’m retired. Why are trade unions not speaking up more in support of their members here?

Just get a couple of retired cops and put them on each train. Let them take over from the guard, take details and radio ahead for transport police to be waiting at the other end. Those c*nts are in just one part of the day where they will be behaving like that.

Chuck them off at the next stop and have security escort them from the station and not let them back in, don’t think they’d be laughing about financial issues then

Don’t get on a train if you can’t afford to pay or aren’t willing to pay. It’s criminal behaviour like this that pushes up prices for the rest of us folk who do the honest thing & pay for our tickets. Public transport isn’t a free ride for thieving scumbags like this.
