How can players make a big jump next year?!?! For High School and College players… they all put in work with their coaches. Most of them have a trainer they see to put in work. So what is the separator? 1. Are you working on the right things with your coaches that are going to help you be a better player working your team and overall 2. HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU PUT IN THE GYM ON YOUR OWN. This is a HUGE SEPARATOR because this time isn’t dependent on anyone and is unlimited in how much you do. Almost every player I’ve worked with that has made a BIG JUMP has put in extra time on their own. It’s not only because of the work, but it also helps players understand their game better and gives them a bigger investment in their development. As a player you should assess that part of your development today!

Are you actually a good holder? Holding a football is something that looks relatively easy. Then you realize you have to catch the ball at the same distance every single time, make quick adjustments using your hands, and set it exactly how the kicker wants it on every rep. When you think about it like that, it’s actually a pretty difficult task. Only if you don’t work at it. Becoming a great holder takes time. It’s doing the little things and getting as many real reps as you possibly can. This is a simple drill I worked on before I came back to the NFL. If you want to become a great holder, get as many reps as possible. Slow hands do not eat. Be a perfectionist. #TLK #BeAPro #Specialists #KickerDevelopment #PunterDevelopment

Everybody tries to fix their direction by training and feeling their bat path. Makes sense. The barrel and hands the part you can feel the most. But your path is mostly just following where your body already sent the energy. Posture leaks a little, the energy comes away from the ball, and the barrel goes right along with it. So when you’re pulling off, it usually started before your swing even starts. It started with your posture and where your body was working. Hands, path, posture, energy. They all work together. Clean up the stride, body energy and posture and the barrel falls in line on its own. Typically. The drill in the video is how you train that. Volume up so you catch the cue.
