fine-tuning open-source models without this step is just burning GPU credits. inspect your data first. catch duplicates, empty outputs, bad rows. an AI agent can build the checker for you in minutes. i tried it in Qoder. i gave its desktop agent one task: build a local checker for... instruction/output JSONL, let me fix flagged rows, and export the valid ones. on 12 sample rows, it caught: >2 duplicate instructions >2 empty outputs >1 instruction over my 300-character review threshold i fixed one empty output. the valid count went from 7 to 8. Qoder then verified that the exported JSONL contained 8 clean rows. duplicates aren't always wrong, and 300 characters isn't a model limit. those are reasons to inspect a row before training, not blindly delete it. Qoder planned the task, built the app, opened it in the browser, and checked the result. that's a useful tool to have before starting a fine-tuning run. i used Qwen3.8-Flash, which showed 0× Credits in my run. it's free through September 30. New open-source agent harness just landed! I got early access to TrueForge by TrueFoundry and have been running it locally for the past few days. The harness layer deserves as much attention as the model, and open source matters here because you can inspect the loop, run it on your own infrastructure, and swap to the latest or cheaper models. TrueForge handles the runtime work that makes an agent reliable. It drives the tool-calling loop, manages context, coordinates subagents, and executes code in a sandbox, with any model you choose. Every tool call re-sends the growing context to the model, so in practice the harness controls most of what an agent costs to run. A few things stood out from my testing and their published benchmarks. Vendor-Neutral by design. It runs OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google models alongside open-weight models like Kimi, GLM, and DeepSeek. Model routing is a setting, and you can send each task to the model that fits it. On a 14-task enterprise agent benchmark, it matched the accuracy of Claude Managed Agents running the same Opus 4.8 model at roughly 30% lower cost per run (3.8M tokens vs 10M for the same answers). Routing the same tasks to GLM-5.2 held accuracy and brought cost down by about 75%, around $3 per run instead of $12. Fully self-hosted and Open Source (MIT License). 🚨Gemini 3.6 Flash is trash I tested it on a 3D Golden Gate Bridge, and the results were awful. • I had to re-prompt it three times because it repeatedly ignored the instructions. • First attempt, instead of creating the requested .html file, it first tried to build the experience inside the Gemini app using simulations. • Then second attempt it started placing images from the web into the chat rather than actually producing the file. • Even after getting it to complete the task, the final output was dramatically worse than Gemini 3.1 Pro, which is 5 months old and now not even a top 10 model on leaderboards. This feels like a regression from Gemini 3.5 Flash and honestly, it is one of the weakest models I have tested in the past few months. Has anyone else tested Gemini 3.6 Flash yet, and are you seeing the same thing?

I have a little robot that unlocks my door from the inside (so I don't have to carry a key) The problem was it wouldn't calibrate on my door. It was designed for 90° turns, but my lock only needs 15° In the past, this would've been a showstopper But I asked AI if it could help... At first, it suggested I snoop on the bluetooth connection to figure out the protocol Then it realized that we could probably just decompile the app's SDK and read its source code. That worked! It told me to switch to my mac and run some python for it. Unfortunately, it couldn't run the scripts directly because Claude Code Desktop didn't have bluetooth permissions, but my shell did. Thinking about it now, I probably should've used Claude Code or Codex in the Terminal. Anyways, it took a while, lots of backs and forths, we had some misunderstandings, it was massively overcautious in the beginning, but we finally got the lock calibrated! Feels like magic! I threw the repo up on github in case anyone in the future (ie me) runs into a similar issue – hopefully it can save them some time

I did not ask for this and that is the whole point. Opened my laptop at 8. The brief was already sitting in Slack, timestamped 7:02. Everything that moved overnight, sorted by what it actually costs me to ignore. Three things flagged. Two of them I would have missed until Thursday. Nobody prompted it. I vibe coded this AfterEffects Animation in 45 minutes. Step 1: I used Cursor to Generate a type of code called extendscript/java script... No clue what that means, but it worked. Step 2: I ran the script in after effects... ChatGPT voice the whole time guiding me through the process of importing scripts and running it Step 3: I made changes with Composer, just like normal except now after effects is my "localhost:3000" that's just how i think about it in my head. Every time you make changes, you do have to run the script again manually. But I did 7-8 iterations and got this. Step 4: I went to Suno to generate the music. Then elevenlabs to generate the sound effects (wind) and voice. Step 5: Tossed them into premiere, adjusted the audio levels to not be so abrupt... then export.

look what a single consumer GPU just built. gave Qwen3.5-35B-A3B one prompt: build a cloud GPU marketplace with pricing cards, deploy templates, and a benchmark leaderboard. it planned the layout, wrote the animations, populated the data, and served it. one shot. one HTML file. then i told it to iterate. split the hero, add a floating GPU with neural network animation. glassmorphism on the cards. done. done. done. three rounds, no confusion, no regressions. 4-bit quantized. 19.7 GB. single RTX 3090. full coding agent claude code harness running on localhost. no API calls leaving my machine. no subscription. no rate limits. earlier today i pointed it at my own production website. it curled the HTML, found every broken link, and told me "pretty shell, empty core. would not recommend." then built a better version from scratch. local inference stops being a demo when you actually steer it. the models are there. they understand intent. but you have to meet them halfway with good prompts, clear context, and real project structure. that's the skill gap now. not the models. the steering. more experiments coming. i genuinely cannot stop playing with this thing.
