🔴 The UN Commission of Inquiry found that “forced public stripping and nudity, sexual harassment including threats of rape, as well as sexual assault” are “standard operating procedure” of Israeli forces toward Palestinians, and that “other forms of sexual and gender-based violence, including rape and violence to the genitals, were committed either under explicit orders or with implicit encouragement by Israel’s top civilian and military leadership.” It concluded that “the frequency, prevalence, and severity of sexual and gender-based crimes perpetrated across the Occupied Palestinian Territory lead the Commission to conclude that sexual and gender-based violence is increasingly used as a method of war by Israel to destabilize, dominate, oppress, and destroy the Palestinian people.” 🎥 Video via Zeteo. I put the video and sound together in RunwayML.

Very proud today to present my Ten Minute Rule Bill: Interpersonal abuse and violence against men and boys (strategy). This strategy is desperately needed as male survivors of domestic abuse, rape, sexual assault, digital image abuse, honour-based violence and forced marriage are currently an afterthought, incredibly, included within the Violence Against Women and Girls strategy. We urgently need a dedicated strategy for men and boys, and in lieu of a new position statement from the Government, legislates for Jess Phillips to ensure that alongside the forthcoming new Violence Against Women and Girls strategy a separate strategy for men and boys is finally introduced. My thanks to We Are Survivors., @MBCoalition and ManKind Initiative for their advocating for such a step.

The UN Human Rights Council has investigated Israel's war in detail - and the conclusions are DAMNING: "We conclude that Israeli authorities are responsible for war crimes, crimes against humanity... including extermination, internationally directing attacks against civilians... using starvation as a method of war... sexual and gender-based violence..." All those states that touted the Rules Based Order in Ukraine must now act to impose a UNSC-sponsored arms embargo on Israel.
