Thanks to Putin it happened. Now every russian neighbour (except Belarus) supports Ukraine and considers Russia as enemy. Putin with his actions pushed Sweden and Finland in NATO. Sadly the cost for that was and still is ukrainian lives.

Naturally, our focus was on defense support and investment in our industry. Ukraine’s position remains unchanged: we are ready for mutually beneficial cooperation with all partners who truly help us. We also discussed security guarantees and Finland’s potential contribution, the future security architecture of Europe, our European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Today, our ministers are signing a document to launch the Civil Protection Shelter Coalition. As long as Putin continues attacking our infrastructure, we must do everything to protect our people, and we are grateful to Finland for this initiative. I also informed President Stubb on Russian disinformation regarding the situation on the Kursk front. There is no encirclement there – our troops are carrying out their missions as required for Ukraine. Finland's defense ministry said it would give a new military aid package to Ukraine, worth around 200 million euros ($217.48 million), including artillery ammunition to help in the war with Russia. Today, we have a new support package for Ukraine, and the most important element of it is the Swedish Gripen fighter jets, which will strengthen our air force. Overall, this year, next year, and our future cooperation are all about building Ukraine’s fleet of Swedish Gripens. This will help us guarantee the security of Ukraine and Ukrainians. Today, the Ulf Kristersson and I also discussed the details of our cooperation across all other areas. I briefed him on the situation in Ukraine – on the battlefield and in our defense against Russian strikes. We need our own European antiballistic capabilities in sufficient quantity and with sufficient strength. We will work on this, including within the NB8 format – one of our most effective formats, bringing together Ukraine, the Nordic countries, and the Baltic states. I am also grateful to Sweden for all the sanctions steps – everything that limits Russia’s capacity for aggression.

Today, during our meeting with Mark Carney, we discussed strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia. And it is important that such decisions are being made. We also discussed formats of defense cooperation, Canada’s participation in financing the production of Ukrainian drones under the Danish model, and cooperation in the energy sector. Importantly, Canada will continue to provide Ukraine with energy support and assistance in recovery. I thank Mark for his strong position during the G7–Ukraine meeting and for all the support for our people. We truly have strong allies and the Prime Minister’s significant personal engagement in supporting Ukraine. And this is highly valuable.

There was also a meeting in the “Ramstein” format. We are preparing decisions to support our joint defense production with partners. This is long-term security: our guarantees, European guarantees, guarantees for everyone that Russian aggression will not be able to expand and will not be rewarded. Russia must truly feel that war is worse than peace. That is exactly why sanctions are needed — especially against their oil trade. Sustained defense support for Ukraine is also essential, to protect our people and to defend our positions.

I met with Marshal of the Sejm of Poland Włodzimierz Czarzasty 📚📖. We discussed Ukraine’s European integration process, energy security, and defense cooperation between our countries. It is important to continue preserving and developing relations between Ukraine and Poland. I am grateful to the Marshal for this visit on the eve of the anniversary of the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and to all of Poland for its support of Ukraine. We are grateful for participation in the PURL initiative and count on cooperation within the SAFE mechanism.
