But if 10-year hits 3.70% he would be "very careful" as bond market positioning on the long side is already at extremes. Longer-term, he is bearish on bonds (see more below), he thinks the 40-year trend of declining rates and inflation is over - Liquidity cycle is in "rejuvenation phase" thanks to U.S. Treasury "playing games" with the Fed's balance sheet - but Zulauf does not expect this to continue for long - There will be weakness in U.S. economy in 2024, but it could be "later rather than soon" - Cyclical value stocks are outperforming growth stocks, and this is telling a different story than the short-term rate market which is pricing in many Fed cuts early in 2024.
