First… HOW did it get this bad? Why is everything slowly killing us - and can we stop it? Turns out, food research is old, funded by pharma, & wildly difficult to modernize. Paul Saladino is hopeful RFK Jr can start to turn the ship around.. but it's a... show more

This guy is an MD who swears you can heal yourself with an animal-based diet. I asked him about the parts of our food supply making us unhealthy and fat. His answers surprised me. Here’s what he said:

Seed Oils You've probably heard seed oils are "bad for you." But do you know why? - "Canola" isn't even a real thing - Seed oils like canola were originally used as ENGINE lubricants The picture Paul paints will give you chills:

Receipts / Thermal Paper "There's solid evidence that touching these receipts can lead to absorption of endocrine-recepting chemicals through your skin. Like, don't hate me." Spoiler alert... people hate hearing this:

Cosmetics / Makeup / Deodorant Our skin is porous. Anything we put on it, seeps into our bodies. With girls getting into cosmetics younger and younger, it makes you wonder what the long-term effects will be...

Leggings / Swim Suits / Sports Bras If you're like me, this one never even crossed your mind. When we sweat in skin-tight synthetic materials, we absorb their chemicals. But nearly ALL athletic-wear is polyester.. Maybe there's a new market to tap here?

Botox Shots f*cking fired. I have botox and - shocker - Paul told me it's no good. But for a reason I didn't expect... Apparently there's a theory that botox inhibits bonding between moms & babies:

Mouthwash / Soap "Mouthwash kills all the flora in your mouth ... Using it can even reduce muscle gain by disrupting physiology during workouts." Mouthwash, toothpaste, soaps.. could be changing your gut without you knowing:

So.. what are you supposed to do? Never touch plastic, receipts, seed oils, lotion, or soap?? Not realistic. Honestly.. if you're healthy? You're fine. But - if you're sick & doctors can't help, Paul says these small changes to avoid toxic inputs can be a big help over time

I've been enjoying hearing different health takes from guests on the pod. Incredible how much diversity there is in the medical/fitness world. Feel free to follow @Codie_Sanchez for more, and share here if you liked this:

Been saying this for so long. Steak and eggs… even just once a day after a long enough period of time will tell your body: “this is enough” And they’re all healthy fats too.
