January 14, 2021. Tim Walz announces that he is deploying the National Guard to protect the Minnesota State Capitol during the days before and after Biden's inauguration. It was all just political theater of course. Walz is currently heading up a real insurrection.

Here's Gavin Newsom in June of 2024 telling Republicans to stop playing politics and to send some National Guard to California to help with the border. It was election time so it was time to pretend to be for law and order. Today Newsom announced that he is suing Trump because the President sent the National Guard to California to help with riot control.

Meiselas: Donald Trump just got a rude awakening on Wednesday morning, as California Governor Gavin Newsom says he's bringing in the National Guard. Yep — California Governor Gavin Newsom is sending in the National Guard as a result of Donald Trump's disastrous government shutdown. Newsom will deploy the California National Guard and California Volunteers on a humanitarian mission, essentially against Trump, to support food banks as the federal government shutdown delays food benefits for millions of California families. So think about the contrast: Donald Trump sending the National Guard into cities to destroy people's lives and attack people living in the United States. Governor Newsom sending the National Guard in to deliver food and to help people.
